Thanks for the server tonight Dave, it isn't easy coping with server issues and trying to drive. Thanks for sorting it for us  thumbup2

I made a right mess of the first race, but I learnt from my mistakes and did better in the restart. However, I still made 3 or 4 schoolboy errors, mainly braking. It is quite easy to lock the brakes in these cars and consequently run wide. I had a great battle with Evil until we touched. I tried to stay on the inside, but I haven't seen the replay so I don't know if I ran wide. That dropped me back from Tris and in my attempt to catch him up I had a spin which put Alain within striking distance on the last lap. Fortunately, I managed to stay cool and hang onto P3.

Grats to Cookie for the win, super quick pace  I Am Not Worthy

RIP Joe

Glad the 2nd race attempt worked ok.  Looks as though most drivers did re-connect (15 vs. 18):

I don't know about these cars, but was happy enough to join in with the advanced trainer variant.

Seemed to get on better with the Genie,  but shame about the wheel being on the wrong side!  Despite running the right side offtrack a number of times, at least come the event I was no longer crunching into the wall  Grin

Had some fun trying to keep Matt in sight.  Congrats up front.

Cheers,
Dave.

A real shame about the server issues in the aborted Race 1, but thanks to the team for getting a substitute up and running so quickly.

Grats to Axel and for his great drive in the Chapp to take the win and to Tris and Phil for the other podium places. This was in memory of Joe Shaw ( Beefpie) who raced with us for a while but sadly died far too young. I think we put on a good show.

I hope that everyone enjoyed these cars as much as I did. TBH my setup was far from perfect and together with the locking brakes that Phil mentioned it was an "interesting" race with multiple sudden excursions. I was lucky to end up 4th and that was only after Alain tried to demolish the chicane on the final lap. Hard luck Alain.

Looking forward to Boreham Wood and maybe some tweaking of that dreadful setup.  Wink

Finally getting my Twitch stream sorted and the JSMT race is available to watch from my cockpit view @... Twitch/evilclive67.

I had been having some strange graphics issues with the saved replays that have now been rectified, and It seems that I just need to get the webcam tweaked ( so that you can see my beautiful face  Grin and all of the grimaces and contortions) and all should be good.

Then I can add my microphone and chat comments.....what could possibly go wrong??  Roll Eyes

These cars are quite fun to drive in Advance Trainer mode. Nevertheless, they do feel more of a handful than the F1 cars, particularly the chicane where you can’t see the offside edge of the car.
My main problem was that Pribluda was not showing where the other cars were & the mirrors on these cars are about the same size as a tea cup.
Apologies for the couple of contacts during qualification in the first race - just did not know where other traffic was.
Cookies pace in the Chap was mighty impressive. I think I will stick with the Lola for Boreham, partly because I have a set up to my liking & partly because I like the colour.

I agree, they are fun but they feel a bit big. I adjust my cockpit view with the Head Movement patch and/or GPL Shift to move the driver position back so I can see as much of the edges of the car as possible but even then the edges are not as clear as they are in an open wheel car.

There are virtual mirrors available, see here. They help a lot.

I've had a look Clive, very cool  punk

I've learnt a few things from watching your stream that I wouldn't be able to pick up from watching a GPL replay. Hopefully I can compete with you again on Tuesday if I manage to get ahead again. It was hard to overtake here and whilst you were undoubtedly quicker than me, it wasn't easy to pass. Sorry about the contact.

Well done Cookie, Magic and Phil.

Too bad for round 1 because I made a nice hold up by being 2nd behind the untouchable Cookie and her Chaparral.

In heat 2 I made a mistake at the start and would be behind the whole race until the end or as explained by Evil I hit the chicane at the last 100 meters and will go from 4th to 6th, lol I'm still stunned from the shock : )

Thank you everyone and see you soon
