The latest 2.0.1 version of the 1965 mod can be downloaded from David Wright's site http://fp.gplegends.plus.com/.  Select 'Legends of 65' followed by '1965 mod' to reach the downloads screen and instructions.

The races are being announced with the other GPL races https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?board=53.0 with 'Jack O'Ferrall' listed as starter.  Default setups for the tracks likely to be used can be download from http://www.neurology-crew.com/gplserver under '65 setups'.

This thread is for any questions you may have about how to install and run the 1965 mod itself, or GEM+ and IGOR which are required to race online.

OK, I tooled around with the 65 mod again but no dice. It is now making Gem+ crash so I am going to uninstall everything and reinstall from scratch.

Here's the process I intend to follow. I won't get chance now until sometime Saturday or Sunday, so feedback would be appreciated before then.

(1) Backup my setups
(2) Insert my original CD and run the GPLinstallmax_0.97_UK.exe and install to C:\Sierra\GPL\
(3) Run the GPL v1.2.0.2 (UK)allinonepatch.exe
(4) Run the bwpatch
(5) Run GemPLS_0504
(6) Run GPL.exe and create a Player then restore my setups.
(7) Run the 65_Mod_v2.0.1 then 65_Lotus_33_HR_v2.0
(Cool Try to figure out the 65 Mod again. (Help with this part please).

Are there any ammendments you would make to that process such as registry keys to remove before re-installing or changing the order?.

What OS will you be putting it on?  I can backup my current installation and reinstall if it helps.  I haven't had to alter the registry for GPL at all.  I keep backups of the cars, tracks folders etc separate for easy reinstalls.

The allinone patch I have is version 2.3, and the GPLS_0505.  I would also install the GPLrasthack and teamfix patches before the 65 mod.

Create a second Player as well, for use with the 65 mod.  Then alter that player to the 65 carset and physics with Gem.  If you still have problems I'll post my own reinstall step-by-step.

No need to go that trouble but thanks for the offer.

XP Pro SP2 BTW.

Yeah, once I'm set up I'll do that.

Cheeky I know, but do you have links for those. I thought I had the most recent versions.

Would you create the player before the 65mod or with the 65mod?

Then alter that player to the 65 carset and physics with Gem.  If you still have problems I'll post my own reinstall step-by-step.

I'm probably gonna do this tomorrow now, but it's my wedding anniversary so maybe not.  Wink

Could be Monday evening instead.

The 2.3 allinone patch is here:http://gplmz.bcsims.com/index.php?showtopic=2621.

I would create a second player before installing the 65 mod.

Sure.

I am having trouble finding the teamfix and the GPLS_0505. Even the GEM+iGOR site has 0504.

There is a separate teamfix patch if you'd like but you're possibly better off with a more basic install process at first.  The GPLPS installer over the CD install is the UKGPL recommended option:  https://www.ukgpl.com/index.php/rules/technical.  There's also some further install advice.  Our technical regulations were written before the new rasterizers http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=318308 which are intended for use with the newer video drivers.

I install with the 2.3 patch because it works with my saved files.  GPLS_0504 must be good since it's the one at the Gem/Igor site.  I'm not sure where my version came from, but many downloads were lost in the recent Race Sim Central Forums crash.  The rasterizers need a new Gem (the GEMP2 zip), so that may be the cause.  However, if you have more problems tomorrow I'll reinstall with the GPLPS installer and GPLS_0504, test the rasterizers and post all the steps.

WOW What a busy couple of weeks, I haven't had chance to try this out until today.

The good news is that I now have a fully functional (so far) 65 Mod and a backup too.

Anyway, thanks for all the tips so far on getting it working. I only had a quick blast around Silverstone so far but I faced the right direction all the way around. Smiley

Basically here's what I did
(1) Backup my setups
(2) Insert my original CD and run the GPLinstallmax_0.97_UK.exe and install to C:\Sierra\GPL\
(3) Run the GPL v1.2.0.2 (UK)allinonepatch.exe (2.3)
(4) I didn't need the bwpatch as it was already applied by the allinone.
(5) Run GemPLS_0504 installer.
(6) Run GPL.exe and create two players then setup controls for, and drive a lap with both.
(7) Run the 65_Mod_v2.0.1
(Cool Run GEM+ and change the carset for the 65 driver.

Done

I've just reinstalled GPL and I followed the method outlined by miner2049er in the last post.  The only problem that I had was no racelist in Igor.  I had to browse to Program Files/GPLSecrets/iGor and locate the iGor configurations text file.

It had:

-RaceListClient program options

[ RaceListServers ]
IP                        = maserati.blw.net

[ IRCSettings ]
IRCChatOnStartup          = 0
....

I edited it to:

-RaceListClient program options

[ RaceListServers ]
IP                        = gplrank.info

[ IRCSettings ]
IRCChatOnStartup          = 0
......

New 65 mod drivers will also need the patch, available here: http://gplmz.bcsims.com/index.php?showforum=154  Install after the original has been tested and is functional.
