Eagle is up for grabs, I'll be a reserve for it. I'd like to do it but I go home Thursday and there's no guarantee I'll have an internet connection then.

LOL "The Baron" you'll have to explain to me why H Cheesy

Sorry I'm a bit slow to read forum and I was out in the weekend, however I see that I've been assigned a Lotus, not that I'm so fast with it. If it's possible I'd prefer to switch car with Mike that is faster than me for sure and stay with the Cooper to defend the back of the grid.
Please let me know if it's possible Mike, H.

That would be up to Mike then. Or maybe you would like Jethro's Eagle that is also available now?

I have no explanation for "The Baron", lol.  Grin

Hello Everybody,

thanks for racing with us a second time!

We have picked the Ferrari as second "extra" chassis, sorry for the delay but we just decided it.

Our lineup is going to be slightly different from the Monza one, but faster drivers are still getting fast cars.
Our best driver (PaoloMinotto) picked the eagle, we have yet to assign the lotus.
I expect 2-3 of our drivers to go below 1:26 in qualifying, with the slowest up to 1:29 if not slower.

The 7th edition of our tournament is almost over and Paolo clinched the title with one race (out of 18) still to go.
You can see the standings here, if interested
http://www.gpfun.net/public/gpfun/

We had a poor showing at our Silverstone race, only 14 drivers with many last minute drop outs.
You can see the results here, as a reference:

Bye,
Luca

Hi to Luca and thanks for the information. Wink Hopefully it would be a great race.

Teammies, I made some changes to combat their sub 26 runners as we can't just have them occupy the podium that easily, can we...  Roll Eyes

Brabham...........John
Ferrari..............Doni
Cooper.............Fulvio
Cooper.............Will
Lotus...............Mike
Eagle...............Clive
Ferrari..............Hristo
Honda..............*vacant*
BRM.................*vacant*

As you can see I gave myself and Clive the 2nd Ferrari and the Eagle, respectively. Also swapped Mike and Fulvio to the Lotus and Cooper. Since Mike didn't reply I assume he's ok with the change, but let me know if you'd rather not, Mike, but not later than Friday.

We still need 2 more drivers, so if anyone is willing to have a go (apart from our current reserves), please let us know.

If someone needs help with setup or driving, let me know too. If any of you would like to hold a practice at Friday evening, say as well.

Push it my way, I need the practice. Knowing I wasn't likely gonna be racing, I haven't practiced it. Best I could manage in the BRM was 1:30, if you can knock x seconds off that I'll be happy! Cheesy

I think my PB in the Eagle was about 1:27, but have not driven this car at Silvy for about 2 years  Undecided soooo, this could be very bad or very good. I think a little practice is required and if anyone has a setup that does not cook the rear tyres ................ Roll Eyes

Sorry Hristo, I was away from my PC for a few days, delivering a vintage racing car to it's new owner in England.

OK I'll switch to the Lotus.

Off to do some track time Smiley

OK, all, to make things easier and for sharing setups and tips, let's meet at iGOR tonight. Whoever can make it that is. I suggest you use the WR groove and watch at least one good replay of a lap (WR is ok for that), if you really want to prepare properly for the event.

Here are my most recent Silverstone setups. Except for the bunch of Lotus setups and the sole Eagle setup (which are VERY old), the rest are pretty much recent and some have gone through many revisions. Those ending with 'q' are for Qualifying and those with 'r' are for... you get the idea. Tweak braking bias and steering ratio to your preferences. The aim for race setups is to preserve the engine, allow for towing and keep the tyres more happy, but the latter is not always possible.

http://uploading.com/files/NUMHDWUS/hristo_67_silverstone_setups.zip.html

Here is the WR groove .3do file for Silverstone. Or I think so. Let me know if it's not, lol. But it should be. Yeah. Just drop it in your 'Silver' track folder:

http://uploading.com/files/00Y2WB9O/silver3do.zip.html

For replays you'd be best off getting some from GPLRank. Focus on gear shift moments, revs, braking points, turn in points, amount of throttle on entry and mid-corner, acceleration points, position and angle of the car related to apex. Sliding less in the early laps of a race really helps for tyre temps later.

See you later,

I have an 11pm watershed for racing/discussions, so I'll do my best, but no guarantees. Smiley
