Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0

Al brakes in his normal place for the last corner and Jason is unable to stop before punting him off the track. Jason does wait for Al to regain the track in front of him, but this does not really alter the fact that he was just far too late on the brakes to avoid the contact.

Another good race with just a few incidents for the Mods to look at.

This short track provided some close racing at times with the added complication of slower cars being lapped. Driver behaviour by both the faster cars and those being lapped was excellent and everyone should take round of applause for good driving.
Some drivers performed spectacular "offs" and survived...others were not so lucky. Geoff's move on the S/F straight to allow Evil to lap him is worthy of note..there is getting out of the way, and there is getting RIGHT out of the way!!!

Server replay time: 0

Cookie was unfortuate in losing concentration 3 laps from the end when in a solid 2nd place and is forced to perform a Shift-R. He duly pulls into the pits, but only pauses for 1 second and goes again.......tut! tut! He should have been stationary for 10 seconds!! as per the rules for the GT's
The general ruling on short pitstops is that the shortfall is multiplied by 3 and added to your race time so....9 x 3 =27 seconds to be added to Cookies total race time. Which will affect the race results.

  • Racing incident

Nigel was DQ'd by GPL for apparently going the wrong way. But the replay clearly shows that he has managed to perform an almost impossible move and get his car over the concrete retaining wall and into the woods. There is no way to drive back from there but Nigel does try to find a way out before giving up and hitting Shift-R.
As he gained no advantage from going the wrong way and did go to the pits as he should have afterwards, I think his position in the race stands.

Ah, OK, Paul, you're excused then - hope your family appreciates the sacrifice you must do for them!  Grin

So are we allowed to seek temporary single-race replacements in these series? And do they have to be signed on the team or something? In case we can, anyone willing to step in for Paul for just this one race?

My understanding of the rules is no replacements H - Kind of annoying as I'm at the Nurburgring for the Brands race so will have to leave my teamies in the lurch  Sad

Soz H. I will try and make sure that I am there for the remaining eight races. I'll have to have 100% attendance or we get a penalty Sad

Hope you have a good time at the 'ring Tim. Please be sensible, there are still 8 races after this one [although a mate says the German medical care is very good, having experienced it himself]. Must have a discussion with Dave about cars for Effex. Cya.

Do my plans for a sub 9 minute lap count as sensible?  Grin

Will try and get some practice for Effexx in tomorrow as I'm marshalling at Combe all day saturday  Smiley

Did 2 9:02's last year on 6" wide Uniroyal-decidedly-not-sport-tyres which were melting by about the 2/3d's point as it wasn't raining Shocked
This year I have some 8" wide Falken's on my lightweight Ray's wheels  Cool - This combo is actually lighter than the 6" road wheel/tyre combo aswell as grippier so I'm aiming for at least 10 secs off if I manage a clear lap Grin

If I had the faintest idea what you were on about I could probably drive in this sim a bit better Wink

Enjoy it Tim, and safe racing.

His pension for speed, means he's retired - it's quite obvious really!  *EDIT*  No, wait, what I meant was re-tyred.  Grin

Makes sense now you've edited it maddog Grin

What I mean Paul is that my wheels (And therefore tyres aswell) will be 2" wider on each wheel = bigger contact patch = moar gripz = higher corner speeds thumbup1
Also, thanks to the bigger Rays wheels actually weighing less! than the smaller wheels, I have less rotating mass which is also a big bonus  Grin

Oh, and there are rumours that the club van will be coming with us, I've already started making enquiries about taking it around the Nordschlief should that be true ninja

Err - I was kidding Tim although I'm not familiar with 'Rays'. I do get the point about the bigger wheels. That is why driving a lorry is so much easier - big wheels and five axles = 10 wheels with large diameter - HUGE amounts of grip Wink (I'm still kidding)  laugh

Well that's typical. My internet conked out on the first lap  censored. If only it happened a few minutes earlier. At the end of the pace lap, people were disappearing and suddenly GPL shouts 'Error on network device' or something new. Was hoping that the server had an issue but alas it was just me. Shame that as I was really looking forward to the race at Efexx.

Onto the next one......
