Moderator's Report

The division is proving popular and there were no complaints about this late circuit change. There were however some valid complaints about the server which will not be used again for GT races.

The warp was a factor in some incidents and as normal will not be punished, but can warp be blamed for all of them?

Server replay time: 0h01m10s

T2 was the catalyst for several collisions, mainly small ones.

Maybe drivers would have been well advised to be extra careful on such a warpy server but what actually happened?

Natan was quick on the approach and lost some control which put him into the tyres on the inside and slowed him down which had a concertina effect as those behind had to slow as well.

Jason was trying to outbrake Fabio who had a terrific start and was very hot into T2 where he hit Nicky who in turn was slow after tapping Phil who was giving Natan room.

Goran decided he would avoid any possible incidents by driving straight on and almost gets collected as he rejoins near the racing line on the exit.

Drivers should have been extra cautious at T2 on a warpy server but luckily the collisions we saw were not serious and everybody continued pretty much unaffected.

Because it is not obviously clear who could see what on their clients at this stage I have waived any potential penalties for these incidents.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h03m24s

Hristo and Tom are locked in battle and as they hit the braking zone for T4 Tom forgets to hit the brakes and hits Hristo, knocking them both off.

Both rejoin and lose 2 positions.

Server replay time: 0h04m28s

Paul outbrakes himself into the final turn and is slow into it which means Jonny behind him has to hit the brakes.

Fabio arrives on the scene very quickly and rear ends Jonny.

It is doubtful whether Fabio would have made the corner as he was going that quickly.

Server replay time: 0h17m03s

Jonny is passing Fran and is clearly quicker at this stage.

Fran may have had physical contact but he reaction of his car suggest warp and there will be no penalty given.

Warp Incident

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h21m48s

Fran is following Paul through Le Musee and Paul makes a real mess of it but keeps it pointing forwards just about.
Fran shapes up to make a pass but before he can pull out from behind Paul he gets too close and hits him.

There may be some warp involved but there was a discernible and avoidable contact.

Released briefly from my duties, as test driver at Antipasti, I was given a one off contract with Team7 at Bugatti.  No. 7 was Stirling Moss' favorite number, so I decided to drive for free! Cool

The start went very well, and a lovely sight to see all the cars, skillfully flinging themselves around the opening lap. This lasted all the way to lap 2.  Several silly mistakes then left me chasing promising newcomer Cookie, for much of the race.  I had hoped the tyre barrier's under construction alongside the track, would be ready by race time, but no such luck.  The trouble with those lumps in place already was, they chose to attract more than they repelled.

The pitboard battle raged on undaunted, until with only 3 laps left, "Bang!"  I ended it all, hypothetically - how pathetically ineffectual. Angry (Note : long words hurt brain) "Ah well, back to testing!"  Wink

Absolutely right Hristo, Juha was flying in his Porsche. I actually broke one of my rules and tried to match his qually time by dumping all but 3  galls of fuel, rather than try on race fuel, but even that left me some way behind. Ronnie put it a great qually lap that dropped me to 3rd so I was looking forward to some serious racing.

I was hoping that Juha's race pace/setup might be a little slower than his quali performance and that might give me a chance to challenge him, but from the start he was very quick. I had Rocket Ronnie in front of me and although I felt I could go slightly faster than him there was no chance for a safe pass. All the while Juha was easing into the distance Undecided.

I had pressure from behind as well as the fast guys sorted themselves out and began to close, so I had to press Ronnie as hard as I dared.
When he ran wide at T1 hairpin ( or is it 2?) I fired myself through the gap and took off after the shadow of Juha. Ronnie recovered very quickly and was holding Fulvio ( I think ) behind him and I was able to keep both of them at a safe distance whilst the fuel load came down.
By half distance Juha was about 500mtrs in front and still easing away every lap and Ronnie was still within 100 mtrs behind. Time to push hard......

I put in a session of 3-4 banzai laps and gradually pulled away from Ronnie to the point where he lost my slipstream, after that tried to maintain the speed to see if I could catch Juha. But his pace was so good that I could barely make any difference to the gap even after 5 or 6 laps on the limit.
Ronnie retired leaving the 3rd place car about half a lap behind and with Juha about the same ditance ahead I decided with about 8 laps to go that to try and chase Juha was likely to end in disaster so I would maintain my pace and hope that Juha would run out of fuel or blow up...he did neither!! Undecided

Grats to Juha on a deserved win and hard luck to Ronnie who was fast but payed the price for over stressing the unbreakable Porsche engine.

This is turning into a very popular and highly contested series,,,,,,,,,,looking good for the rest of the season  Grin

what i can say ,  perfect race for me  Grin, no mistakes , setup feels good and track that i know very well from earlier races  . It was lonely driving from start to finish,i see few backmarkers after half distance but they give me easy way, so no problems with them either.  Wondered what happened to ronnie as he did very quick qualifying lap. Not a bad day for team Porche international as cookie finished 6th. we are trying for team championship title  laugh

Brands is familiar track but i guess more closer times for top 5

so after all the result, 5Th, were not too bad and Pedro and Lupo also made it to the finish so a good team effort.

Thanks Böss Wink
I had a interesting and fun race.
With the lag thingy..........some people take great risk while overtaking, but that's racing.

Thanks all for the race!

Apparently this template is totally different from the one used to make a livery for mod 67 which is composed by several .mip files.
In this image, all components of a car skin are placed all together on the same file. Is this file suitable to be readed directly as it is from GPL or may it be transformed with Photoshop cutting away parts and making .mip files with those parts for each component ?
If this is the only file we need to draw a livery, which are the bounding boxes surrounding each componet ?

Thanks.

P.S.: this image looks like the template file for IL-2 airplanes.

For me, a very enjoyable race and a good result! punk

My car was nice handling, although a little slow exiting corners, but I was confident to have a good pace during the race, hoping for some unlucky events of the drivers in front of me. Started 3rd, but dropped down to 4th before turn 1. But, at the braking for the 2nd turn, dived inside Goran and returned to my strating grid position.

On second lap, I was pursuing and watching Hristo x Tommie battle, when both made contact and spun off the track. Then I was leading, trying to avoid an approach from Pedro. Some laps later, Tommie was 2nd again, and started to reduce my advantage. I was not so much fast and, after receiving some pressure from him, made a mistake and went off the track, losing the lead.

After a few mistakes, my race was summed up to keep the 2nd place and Hristo behind me. As usual, I reserved for the last lap my "bizarre moment of the race" Grin. At the penultimate turn, I clipped a tyre and had a spun. Luckily, my car did a 360º spin and was able to return without losing the 2nd place.

Grats to the winners, especially for the flying Juha! (Did somebody told him that this championship is only with Porsches? laugh). And grats to all finishers! See ya next time!

It is necessary to make your own test how much fuel is consumed for every track with the GTs!
This lap/fuel in GPL-setup is allways way to much...

Maybe the fuel is calculated for Le Mans where you are all the time pedal to the metal?

I had a great start and was behind Clive for a while, then I had slide out of the third hairpin and Sergio couldn't avoid me putting both in the sand. Had another off here and there, but eventually caught a honorable 4th behind Sergio that showed a good speed  Smiley

That's right m8, I was so close to you that I was not able to avoid the contact while you were braking just after the power oversteer exiting from the Hairpin. I was so surprised of your move that I had no time to push the brake pedal at all. I'm sorry for the contact Fulvio. I never had a more unwanted contact than this one  Wink

Hi all,

Qualifying for this race was tough, but in the end I managed a good lap which put me at P2. Going into the first corner, I slotted in behind Hristo and tried to follow him round for the first few laps. I was happy to just be able to follow when my connection suddenly got a lot worse. Cars were jumping left and right but at least I was able to continue. Unfortunately I then had a lapse in concentration and missed my braking point, hitting Hristo. We both went straight on but could rejoin relatively quickly with only 2 places lost. Hristo then started chasing Pedro, but a couple of laps later he missed his braking point at the same corner as I did. Thankfully he was able to avoid Pedro, although he did go straight on. With Hristo now behind me, I had to figure out a plan to overtake Pedro despite the massive warp to be able to keep Hristo behind me. Thankfully he had another off so that gave me some breathing space. I then set about overtaking Pedro. I had a better exit out of a slow corner and pulled alongside lining up for the fast left kink, when he suddenly disappeared due to the appaling connection. As a result, I drove through the kink a lot slower than usual, but at the exit of the corner everybody reappeared and it was suddenly Hristo behind me, with Pedro behind him. I was able to pull away from Hristo a bit and started catching Raoni. I made a mistake later on but was able to catch him again before he crumbled under the pressure. After that I was able to drive my own race and not worry about the huge warping as much.

Even though I crossed the finish line in first place, I expect to be degraded back to third due to my mistake, so grats to Raoni and Hristo for a good race in appalling conditions.

Tommie.

I can't agree with my penalty. As explained the car preceding me was out of the track and suddenly ,one second after, was in front of me.In wich way is possible to avoid an accident? The only way is to race without try overtaking! This problem is due to the server ,i think, and in my replay is clearly visible this fact.
