Noob here needs help

Hi I'm not able to import setups (from the internet) into GPL when using GP SetUp Manager v1.1.6.

When I navigate to my downloaded setups folder and select a setup, I get a window saying file is in old format but asking me to choose 65 or 67 mod, when I select the year, another window says 'There is something wrong with this setup file. Please select another file'

None of the setups that I have downloaded and unzipped work !!

Hi Angelsoft, welcome to UKGPL.

I think your problem is related to that the fact that, sometime in the past, GPL.exe has been patched to use a new extended file format, and GPL Setup Manager expects to deal with these files. I think the newer format is slightly bigger and allows data such as the wing settings in the 69 mod to be saved.

You could try opening the file in GPL itself and saving it out again, that might switch it to the new format and allow GPLSM to open it.

Some of the other guys here at UKGPL are better with setups than me and will hopefully pitch in with some advice too.

Try using Setup Assistant (google for it) to load and save the setups, then load them up elsewhere. It usually works.
