Season 22 - GT Team Challenge

Now that we have some experience with the GT mod, we have made some to the rules now that we have some better data on the cars and drivers. In a departure from previous seasons we have replaced the token system with one that handicaps the cars on a per race basis through timed pitstops

This new series will consist of ten races.

Teams
a) Teams will be made up of 3 drivers with free choice of chassis
b) Teams can be formed from the existing teams in UKGPL ( Wazas, Soggies, Clarke Hill, Antipasta etc) or by any alliances which you care to make.


Drivers
d) Drivers will be valued relative to their points score at the end of last season and their experience ( and speed ).
e) Any drivers who register for the new season, but who did not compete last season, will be assessed and assigned a token value.

Cars
f) Once the teams have been assembled they will then be able to spend the remaining tokens on 3 cars which they will use for all ten races.
g) All drivers must drive all 3 cars that the team has purchased at least 3 times during the 10 race season. If a driver competes in all 10 races he will be able to drive 1 of the cars 4 times.

Points
h) Points will be awarded as last season, so getting all 3 drivers to the finish will increase the team score.
j) At the end of the 10 race championship any TEAM which has not complied with rule "g"  will have its BEST TEAM points result of the season cancelled.
k) Each driver will drop his worst 2 results, in line with the other championships, this gets over the problem of missed races and 2 man teams looking for a sub at the last minute.
 
Racing
There will be rolling starts for all races.
The events will be run on Intermediate damage and allow ONE Shift-R with a compulsory Stop and Go pit stop regardless of fault.
Any driver who fails to take a Stop and Go within 1 lap after a Shift-R, will be disqualified from the results.
For this division the full moderation will include both the warm up lap and the red zone lap one proper.

The races will be run as follows:

Car set: GT mod
Date: Every second Sunday from 6 November 2011
Time: no later then 9:00pm UK Time (30-60 mins practice, race starts at 9:30pm)
Race Length: 50 minutes (last race 75 minutes endurance)
Damage Model:  Intermediate
Server: UKGPL_T7_2

I think this will be a nice champ but almost impossible for me to take part during Saturdays and Sundays.

Unfortunately almost all the series I like are during days not good for me.

Can we make team7?

Will we have to split if there are more than 6 teams? Hope not, its highly unlikely everyone to show up...

How are drivers evaluated for price to hire? If there are all novices in a team for example, will  that allow the team to get lola/chap2f/ferrari?

Like this format.  Not desperate to be a team manager so happy to join any team that will have me as a driver but prefer to stick with Green GT with Axel and Jason if you guys are racing again in season 22.

Guys, I know what I'm going to say is...a strange request but, if you have other championship to race for during the week and this one (GT) only at Sunday, I was thinking...why not to swap the cheduled date of these two championship making me to participate to this GT champ ?
I explain it better, I can't race on Sat/Sun but I can during the other days of the week so, if you change the race scheduled shifting the GT during the week and the other race on Sunday all remains the same excepting...I can race with you. This is only an idea, obviously all pilots would have to agree otherwise all remains like it is now.

As a bit of history Sergio (and I'm sure Phil will correct me); we basically started off with a base night of Sundays then, when we brought in the new mods like 66/65, included Tuesdays and then Fridays became a recent add-on thanks to (no extra cost) server availability which has turned out to be pretty popular.

It's really a case of squeezing lots of events into the three nights and it is a bit of a juggling act. Much as we'd like to run the right mod/division on the ideal night for every driver it will never be possible. The best we can do is find a happy medium so most can make their chosen divisions.

    You can now calculate how you will assemble your teams and keep within the 250 tokens for the whole season
