Moderator's Report

This race we had no problems with the rolling start...

Server replay time: 0h02m29s

Fran follows Marco into the Jacky Ickxbocht where Maco runs wide.
There is no avoiding action by Fran.
"The victim had partially lost control before contact and consequently his line was unusual. The shunter was in full control."

Server replay time: 0h04m32s

Giovani follows Marco into Sterrenwacht corner where Marco slows down very early. Giovani just touches the rear of Marco who spins.
"The shunter had followed the victim for a lap or two before hand and the victim had changed his braking point. Both the victim and the shunter were in full control."

My camshaft broke with 8 laps to go...  :'(

Header broke here, around the same time as Axel's camshaft did. Had a comfortable lead, but was relying on the Porsche being more reliable. I guess I'll look a bit more after the engine next time.

Not at the same time but almost at the same place  Tongue

Well, if I have to be exact, it broke at about the time Axel said "engine" and quit the server, lol.

Also this time absolutely unacceptable global result, Too few drivers to the finish line. Except for those who had a mechanical problem, what happened to all the others ?
I think the mai goal to get oint for the championship should be to stay on track at least 75% of the total race lenght otherwise we will see the most of us driving over our capabilities for only a few laps before to be involved in some sort of accident.
A think more I would say, how it can be that there is still someone racing with a keyboard Huh? GPL is not a Facebook game ;-)

It's not your role or responsibility to judge all that. Everyone can only learn from their own mistakes, not from what you tell them. The track was tricky, the race felt longer than usual, it's natural to have more retirements. It has little to do with a supposed overall degradation of driving skill in the division lol.

As for keyboard, I can assure you there are some keyboard drivers who are faster than you and I. There's nothing wrong with it, in fact it's much more difficult than using an analog controller because you're not in as much control, so you need to make less mistakes because it's harder to make corrections if something goes wrong. I don't care at all what anyone uses to race, as long as they are in control and don't become a hazard.

Do you mean screen freeze or your internet connection to the server cutting out? If so many don't have such a problem, it's obviously something on your end, be it PC, Windows or internet connection.

Hristo, try to subscribe to the GPFun67 championship, saying...I've only a keyboard...and then you will see what they reply to you !
This is a car simulation and a car has not either Joystick nor Joypad nor Keyboard nor Mouse, it only has a drive wheel !
Retirements are naturals...for mechanics failure (and also in this case there could be much to say), but when you leave a race because you became a poster on a wall or on a tree, I think perhaps you should reduce a bit your speed or press on the brake a little earlier to keep your car in control and to get to the finish line as well. Of course, with "you" I am not referring to you Hristo  Wink
The main thing is...if you never reach the finish line you can never win a race, and I'm very aware of this.  Tongue

Yes 2 disco are a little too much, but it could depend on your side hardware and/or software not simply on your connection. And...are you connected via cable or via Wi-Fi or worst via dongle-key or cellular phone ?

So? If someone tells me that I'll tell them it's not their damn business. Do you know Raoni Frizzo? He beat most of the people in UKGPL driving with keys which I find impressive. How about if someone can't afford a wheel? I drove with a joystick until 2003 because I couldn't, so who would be you or others to judge me about that? That is just arrogant, especially coming from people who haven't won championships or many races, preaching on those who have. As I told you before, you're making the mistake on focusing too much on other people's "flaws" instead on your own. Do you consider yourself so perfect?

As for retirements, again, do you really consider yourself so perfect that you never make mistakes? Ridiculous... Even if you're not referring to me, I still find it amazing you're so judgmental of such things, of something that is simply part of racing, part of human nature. It's precisely mistakes which are the way to improve, by learning from them, by realizing them, by seeing through them and changing something in your approach. Unless you're flawless yourself and have achieved a lot of success, you have no right to preach about all this. I might have won so many titles here but I never talked like this, because I'm prone to those mistakes myself and I don't see anything wrong with that.

For your information, unless you push beyond the limit, you will never manage to improve. You can drive for a finish all the time, but this will never help you get better as a driver.

It's not enough to win races and championships though.  Roll Eyes Don't you realize that everything is important, not just one aspect of it?

1e of all, Congratulations to Sergio and Nicky.

It was a real pleasure to hunt you down Nicky Smiley
thanks for the race!

Grats to Van Berg for managing to enter the lenghty list of people who successfully ruined my race...

@Skymole 2173

My name = Pedro van den Berg.

I am sorry for kicking you out off the race James!
It was not on purpose I did not intended to do that!
I was on the max of my performance to overtake you for many laps.

Because you are very good in blocking I needed to create a opportunity to get by.
I try ed different places and different lines and have taken the  time to study your driving.
I try ed to pass you earlier but found that to dangerous!

To me it looked that you were getting ab it out of controle and I could not hold the line I predicted.
I braked all I got but could not prevent to touch you soft!
That's my fault, sorry!
GPL thinks different and troughs you in to the fens and out of the race, that's not my fault!

I am on a long list of people who ruined your race you say .............??
My races are seldom ruined, I have plenty of fare fight and much fun most of the time,
and I feel very sorry when I am part of a accident so always try to avoid one.
(You can ask around)
It is not up to me to judge your part of the crash or what was before,
I am just sorry it happend!

I hope this is enough said.
English is not my native language, and expressing feeling is difficult.

Greetings Pedro.

I feel you were just too eager to pass me, and that on the starting laps... Several times you created dangerious situations and nearly rearended me, and I wasnt blocking you... Zolder is just a track that doesnt give many passing oportunities, and what there are, should be carefully prepared. You could have waited for me to make a mistake, and specificly at that corner where you pushed me out, I was abit too hot in, but perfectly able to make the corner, tho slower than usial. You could have backed up abit and pass me in mid corner for example... It seems you were faster than me in race, but am I sopposed to go out of track to let you through? Then whats the point at all, I wonder...

My races are seldom ruined, I have plenty of fare fight and much fun most of the time,

Then you are about 150 times more lucky than I am... thanks for letting me know that I suck at racing.

Apologies accepted anyway, big deal... but be warned, I hate apologies.

There is no point, it's a "game" we play for fun.

If it was so simple we should just drive into each other for fun.  Wink The fact is, we race for the purpose of winning and that means there's more involved in it than just fun. Fun is when things go well, not when anything happens, regardless of the outcome. Fun is very subjective anyway. Putting on pink glasses is only meant to blind you for facts that are neither good or bad, but just reality. If you refuse to look at it, refuse to take notice, and refuse to improve, what's the point in practicing, in preparing for races, in giving your best? It's GOOD that these things are discussed, it's the only way to move forward.
