Season 44 F1 1967 WORKS – Round 2 – PORTO 1958The 2nd round of the 1967F1 Season 44 will be held at Porto. Circuito da Boavista is a street circuit in Porto, Portugal, which was used twice for the Formula One Portuguese Grand Prix. The original course began at the harbor-front 'Esplanada do Rio de Janeiro', continued on 'Avenida da Boavista', (hence the circuit's name), and then twisted its way through small neighborhoods back to the start-finish line. The first Grand Prix was held in 1958, and saw an act of sportsmanship by Stirling Moss. Moss came to the defense of his countryman and title rival Mike Hawthorn, who faced a penalty for having driven towards oncoming traffic after a spin. Moss persuaded the stewards not to disqualify Hawthorn, who retained his second place and 6 points. Hawthorn eventually won the drivers championship by 1 point over Moss. THERE ARE MORE THAN 19 REGISTERED DRIVERS IN THIS SERIES, SO : The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available. Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join. If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left. My sincere Deepest apologies to the Honda who I took out on lap 1, and whomever else I negatively affected for my bonehead move into T2 by misjudging my breaking. I am a complete NOOB and I am ashamed. Not a good way to start my racing in this league JS

I will accept any penalties and will choose to start last in the next race for my own punishment.

I am sorry Jon, but a driver with so much experience can not do stuff like this... And I hope there will be a serious penalty here. Because I don't wanna think GPL's drivers are no different then the GT3 drivers...

Stuff happens JS, it did come as a surprise to me when my car was launched into the air !!!! And to think, that my race plan was to get myself a good start and thereby stay out of any trouble on Lap 1, something that this track is notorious for lol. Better luck next time Jonathan.

Thanks for the understanding. I usually pride myself on clean driving. I ran every OAO Mini Series race without ever taking a person out and I completed every race but 1. To Dimi's point, I understand it was a horrible mistake, and I accept any penalties handed out.

Thanks for understanding, Jon. We've all been there. Maybe It is harder for me, as this was my first ever GPL pole position after a wonderful lap. And some tokes lost as well. But, it's part of the game. We move on to the next one.

Dimitar, congratulations on the excellent time on pole position, Alain, he had a good record with the BRM in qualifying.
Troubled race on the first lap, took out great drivers, I can imagine everyone's frustration Glad I managed to get rid of the carnage
Stiener, I'm sure you didn't do anything wrong, it was a reckless maneuver, we're all here to have fun first and foremost and I can imagine your frustration at having caused an accident and taking riders out of the race, I've already done that and I was very evil, but whoever has never made a mistake, let him cast the first stone. However, I thought it was very nice and humble of you to recognize your mistake and apologize.
Farina, made a good start, took the lead and was facing the wind the entire race, congratulations on the victory and also set the fastest lap.
Jonny, with an excellent second place in his BRM, opened up a big lead in the championship
Finishing the podium, our fellow South American, Roberto! Congratulations Balsassari, you had a great race
Arf, what a good race in the final laps, it was an immense pleasure for me, my BRM lost on the long straight and in the middle I managed to get closer to you, there was nothing I could do, just try to press and wait for you to make a mistake, That's when I got too close and in a strong lurch and tried to correct it, my monitor shook and gave a black screen for a second, this damn bad contact with my HDMI cable, I need to fix this, I'm going to buy another one today, I hit a wall, I'm glad it didn't damage my car and I was able to complete the race
Let's go to the next one!
Long live GPL!

Congratulations Enrique JonnyO and Roberto for your excellent result. All my apologies to Doni who cannot avoid me following my mistake at turn 2 while I am in the middle of the track and trying to quickly get out of this very bad position. I hope your car was not damaged. Too bad this mistake, following the accident on the first lap I was in 2nd position behind Enrique. A good result might have been possible. Sorry for all the abandonments and see you soon on the track. Thx Dulima for my time in BRM. Thanks to the Admins

It's a shame, the accidents that occurred in turn 3 and the elimination of great drivers for the victory, if that hadn't happened, maybe I wouldn't have been able to win, although I felt very strong, and I achieved a big advantage over Jonnie in turn 2 Well, that doesn't give me merit to say that I won, well earned, I just had a lot of luck and good management and the victory came to me. very good race Jonnie, dodging massacres.. .. and excellent for Roberto, I think it is the first time, in the works category, that he has made a podium, a big applause for you friend. and well, see you in the next race, let's see if I continue with good luck hehe

I had doubts about whether to use the BRM or not, because Porto is a street track with long straights, this is a perfect cocktail for accidents, it is a survival track.77
I had a very competitive speed with Brabham, but due to the risks of the track, I chose the BRM, which could at least give me a good balance of coins. But I could never imagine leaving Portugal with a second place with our wonderful H16!!!!!
It's a shame that Alain left so early, he was the best H16 on the track, and seeing my friend Doni leave next was with great frustration, Doni passed me with great ease by 2x and his pace was very strong. I'm happy to see Du Lima in second on the points table, a very regular, correct driver who never makes mistakes!
Congratulations Farina for the crushing victory, an incredible pace with the Honda!!! And I'm sorry to see fast riders leave so early, it's very frustrating!
But I like Porto, it's a challenging and fun track, and its risks make it an old-fashioned track, I like that! Maybe Porto, Montjuic and Wiesbaden are my favorite urban tracks......... oh, I like Long Beach too!!!
