Moderator's Report

No incident during red zone.

One incident reported several times (by several drivers) at the begin of the second lap.

Arf Arf Arf loose control at the begin of the long straight, there were several direct victims... and several undirect victims rear ended by slow reaction drivers or not enough cautious drivers !

Server replay time: 0h03m25s

Jethro Walters was coming really quick and doing slalom between accidented or slow cars.
He also took a quick and dangerous start at Le Mans
but in Porto, he couldn't see any yellow flag and when he was at the start of the long straight the flag was green

Server replay time: 0h03m25s

Francesco Molteni rear ended Bernie's car :

at the start of the long straight Francesco could see the yellow flag and at this moment he was driving at 89km-h
But still under yellow flag, he was continuing to push the throttle until 145 km-h ...only at this moment he started to brake but it was too late and he rear ended Bernie Darwin !

Definition of Marginal Lack of Care :
The yellow flags were clearly visible. The approaching driver was unsighted because of circuit topography, other cars or bandwidth limitations (i.e. number of cars that are visible). The cars from the incident were moving or would clearly need to reset to continue. The approaching driver slowed down but contact was made with the cars from the incident.

After the first laps ,with a yellow flag at the first curve, was impossible to me to avoid the contact with the car of Darwin.Sorry Darwin but with the car stopped also a  slight contact is enough to send a car in the air.A second yellow flag in the same location sent me in confusion and with the care to avoid a second contact i have chosen a large trajectory but wrong ending my race on the bale hay.
Again without a point in the rank!

I took a very cautious start and was in last position after the first long straight.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Francesco,
you overtook me on this long straight and you did it very well, but still on the 1st lap on the last sector you did an error and you restarted slowly on the middle of the track, at this moment I was coming at high speed and I could overtake you without contact or warp ...but it was a miracle !!
In case of accident, who of us would have been the responsible ? me for a blatant rear end shunt  or you for bad rejoin or taking not enough care ?

You cannot always say "some incident are solved depending from the pilots involved." you should also take care of other driver.
Sorry to say that, but it's my responsibility as moderator to take preventive actions...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After that, happened the accident at the begin of the second lap (as it was not on red zone, only reported incidents will be moderated), I could avoid any contact with other cars ...2nd miracle for me.

but there was no 3rd miracle and I made a big fault on the lap 9 and finished my race in a haybale (if I did one lap more, I could have scored 25 or 28 points !!)

Francesco I am sorry but I think you got it wrong , my car was not stopped , I had slowed to avoid the accident . In fact I was following David through the melee , the yellow flags were clearly visible and were being waved , you reacted far too late .

We also had a close shave on Lap 1 when you chose to recover from your spin by driving at slow speed onto the racing line when really you should have stayed into the side until you had got back up to speed .

Had the 6th spot in Qualifying. After a while the bar in the middle(think Quality that is)  was rising higher and higher. Finally got a disco from the server. After rejoining that happened again.  Sad Saw some people during the Qualifying disconnecting and rejoining again, so I thought that was a problem of the others as well. After Qualify and just before the start I was disconnected again and that was it.  Shocked All other seemed to get a going?

You are right but when there is an error is impossible to think also to the other.
My sentence "some incident are solved depending from the pilots involved" is referred to the fact that i have already explained you.No penalty in one case and strong penalty in the other with the same dynamics.

In effect i did not say that i'm not wrong, simply I said that how  a so slight touch can do in fly a car.
If you see the replay my speed was strongly reduced at the time of the impact,i have blocked the brake but without succes.

@Dave: wish granted.

@Dean and co involved in the mayhem on lap 2: you lot have me to blame for the final hit, the rest was nothing to do with me though!

It did look like one heck of a hit thought Jethro :-)

Sorry for creating an incident on L2, but the carnage was.... nothing to do with me!

Ultimately the incident started with me having a wobble all on my own, and Dean having no chance to avoid me. I have had a couple of races where downshifting doesn't seem to work, and this was another example. I tried to shift down, nothing happened, and I lost the balance of the car and span pressing the brake harder, as I couldn't rely on getting enough engine braking in the higher gear. The same thing ended my race 4 laps from the end at the same corner. Still haven't worked out if it is me getting lazy shifting, or something random happening in the wheel/PC...

A couple of laps before my demise Phil appearaed at one hell of a speed in my mirrors. The lap boards were telling me he was a lap behind, but I wondered if the server had lost him at some point - he was travelling way to fast to be a lap down. At one point he got past, and I saw he was warping quite a bit. I started to worry that I was allowing him to get away, and I'd later find it was actually a race for position, so I sped up, and managed to pass him. Soon after I lost it at T2, but it 'only' cost me one position in the final standings, due to attrition.......

@Arf: I try not to have small accidents. Not worth having them otherwise! Grin (For the record, I'm kidding... I am the accident!)

Also, whilst looking at Prib is useful, occasionally it's not worth tracking the position of the car relative to you on the road, as sometimes it can be way out and tracking a runner who's no longer on the course, or could be a lap down.

EDIT: I had the same issue on downshifts caused by a sticky button not always responding. I changed the mapping and am better for it, but may be worth some practice laps to be sure.

One question and curiosity for all in the forum.
Years ago i have applied a "virtual" mirror that appeared on the top of the screen like Pribluda. At the moment i'm not able to find this patch again.I don't remember if this mirror improved also the side view. What could be interesting would be a similar mirror with the 2 side included,in this way we could solve the problem of many incidents due to the lack of side view like in the reality.Obviously we can't expect to delete all the incident ,also because they happen in few seconds where sometime is difficult to make the right maneuver, but could be a great help

Francesco

Please give real examples of what you say.
I already tried to explain you the differences for the one you indicated me (you and Clive in Le Mans VS you and Fabio in Zandvoort, both in Historics).
Find some other examples...

The example is this one.I sent an e-mail to you based on the observation on this 2 incidents and the different sentence. In your answer you explain me why ,in your opinion, the different sentence.
Could i express my disagreement with this sentence?
