Moderator's Report
A totally dominant display by Tristan Bot in his 2.5 litre Brabham BT11. Not only did he achieve the trifecta of pole, fastest lap and win, but he also lapped everyone. Andreas and Fulvio brought their Coopers home in second and third place respectively.
There were a lot of incidents on this difficult track, many not reported. A lot of these incidents involved a new member who is new to online racing with GPL. These incidents have been moderated with the explicit intention of providing constructive feedback. However, here is some additional general advice.
Please read and understand the etiquette rules about blue flags and rejoining safely. Be aware of the reset rules that may vary between championships and divisions. The tyres are cold at the start AND after a reset so give them time to warm up. When they are cold, they have minimal grip. The engines in GPL (particularly the 2.7 litre Climax) are realistic and they will break if over-revved. Lift your foot off the throttle when changing up (i.e. don’t speed shift) and make sure you have a top gear that is long enough to ensure the engine is not on the red line at the maximum speed for the lap (including when you have a slip stream).

Clive resets his Honda after losing a wheel on lap 5 (and resets again at 0h11m52s on lap 8 after blowing an engine, both without a SnG). No resets for Works drivers in this championship.

Lap 5 – Turn 1 – Will Bennett
Will blows his engine and resets for the second time which is not allowed for this championship. Privateer drivers are only allowed a single Shift-R. Will also resets for a blown engine on the following occasions: Lap 3 (0h03m04s), Lap 7 (0h10m16s), Lap 10 (0h16m40s) and Lap 14 (0h23m12s). He also resets for crashes on the following occasions: Lap 14 (0h23m36s), Lap 14 (0h25m12s) and Lap 14 (0h26m01s). The single allowable reset should be followed by a stop and go in the pits within the next two laps.

Lap 7 – Turn 1 – Will Bennett and Phil Thornton
Phil has just lapped Will across the finishing line and is well ahead as the cars approach the braking zone for turn 1. Phil, driving the heavy 3 litre Honda, keeps the inside line to give Will plenty of room but he has to break earlier than Will in the nimble BT11. Will left his braking too late and rear-ends Phil. Will can continue but Phil needs a shift-R.
Phil did nothing wrong. However, whilst he was well ahead in the braking zone and stayed left, Phil did drift slightly right (by about a tyre’s width) towards the racing line. Perhaps it would have been wiser to give a novice driver the maximum room possible.
As the following driver, Will is responsible for the incident. Moreover, he has a responsibility to not interfere with a car that is lapping him.

Lap 7 – Turn 2 – Will Bennett, Phil Thornton and Alain Maurice.
Will has spun off at Turn 2 on cold tyres. He tries to rejoin but does so in front of two cars that can easily be seen on the entry to the corner. Phil comes to a complete stop but not before minor contact is made and Alain has to take avoiding action to swerve around Phil’s stationary Honda.
Phil did nothing wrong.
Alain did nothing wrong.
All drivers must rejoin safely and not interfere with other drivers. Will should have seen the two cars approaching and should have waited for them to pass by before rejoining.
