I'm sorry Arf-Arf, you are quite right, I slid wide and tried to recover without realising you would dive for the inside, must be aware of that, especially if a faster driver is catching me.Thank you for your help before the race, and your consideration for my poor driving .I must also go and apologise to Zampedri for a similar accident later, when the situation was reversed.
cheers David
An unfortunate incident Dave, but that is racing and we have all made plenty of errors, especially to begin with. You qualified well so had good speed. It is often difficult to scale it back in the race, especially if you are involved in close battles. I managed to ease back in this race but then I was never really wheel to wheel with anyone and when Roberto retired I decided to 'bring it home' and almost straight away ran off the track!!
My race was quiet for the most part. Second was all I could hope for...barring accidents/mechanicals. My set-up was okay but I was wrong to change gearing before the race without trying it
which made some corner exits rather steady, my higher gears were too widely spaced.
I managed to stay somewhat in touch with Roberto, but he was faster and would pull away but also made a few mistakes which allowed me to close back up. After viewing the replay I was definitely watching my revs more than most others, especially Roberto (did your engine let go?) and perhaps this was overly cautious. I was no match at all for Tom so there was little point in working my car harder. Congrats again to Tom, a stunning performance lapping consistently fast and even bettering your pole time.
Bob.
