Moderator's Report

There were no infringements within the red zone on lap 1. Good work chaps, keep it up.

Server replay time: 0h03m00s

After an earlier scenic excursion, Arf^3 chases Dave Smith (wrinklydms) for the remainder of the lap. Whilst negotiating Turn 14 and approaching Turn 15......the hairpin onto the start/finish straight.....Dave gets a little loose and runs wide. Arf^3 is following close and sees an opportunity down the inside to pick up an easy place on his charge back through the field. Dave appears to be slightly out of control in a slide at the point Arf^3 makes his decision to go. Arf^3 achieves 100% overlap, but as it slows, Dave's Porsche bites and turns sharply right, tapping the rear of Arf^3's car quite hard causing him to spin and damaging his engine so it wouldn't rev out. I'm confident Dave knew Arf^3 was there, however fighting for control would have precluded any chance of him knowing what else was happening. Dave would have seen Arf^3's car appear a split second before impact, and being as busy as a one armed paper hanger at the time, he would not have had time to use the look right button to ascertain Arf^3's actual position.
Taking advantage of someone else's mistake can at times put you in a position to become involved.....it's the risk you take. This incident appears to be one of those occasions. I'm sure that had his car been fully under control, Dave would have left room for Arf^3 to come through. As his car was not fully under control, I'm apportioning 50/50 blame in this case, and calling it a Racing Incident.

Cerne Wood, now Sepang....are we sure there is not a server issue here?

Apologies to the person who came round the corner and found me in their path, sorry.

Angry ok 2nd race of 3 I been kicked out .
as I always told , pro modus is wasted time to use for simracing , as there are to less drivers can handle that .
thx , this time goes to Ronnie . what a great idea to try an 180° return slide in the middle of T1 Huh Shocked
ok , he have been slaughterd by Clive , thatswhy he was in that situation...
but once  in that kinda situation ; stranded wrong side ahead in T1 at inner line of the turn , its a must be to wait till pribluda shows ,there arent any cars arriving. and without pribluda ;simply esc&exit .

wonder if there arent better thinks to do , just to waste time ...

Did the qualify, being 5th place, but when I tried to put my car on the grid...no green button for me  Huh

Started from the pits, but I was already 1 lap down. So I decided to retire already on 1st lap...lost completely the fun... Sad

Sry, T7 server got stuck before mid distance I think, I had to kill GPL on it.
Anyway the race was already compromised with a lot of crash and engine blown.

It has made the table slightly odd.

For those interested the replay etc. from Server 2 are available in the usual places.

Perfectly good servers suddenly acting up....or is it the looming end of Capitalism as we know it? The corporate-owned internet certainly seems worse than usual. Personally, my soundcard and video card argued over a DMA call......And I lost, frozen screen and screeching sound.   Angry  Got into the 13's in qually and all.  Grin
We'll investigate dates for a re-run and get back.

In a way its a shame we had that screen freeze as I was starting to get the feel for the track by then BUT in a way it was a godsend as My car was badly hurt in the server 1 turn 1 chaos! I dont know who caused that chaos but they deserve a good thrashing!

I can't race in this at the moment as Mini seems to take all the bandwidth Wink - hoping to sort it out after Xmas.

The replay is available here. Just select the Porsche Super Cup series and analysis is available if you click on the Archive name.

That analysis is available directly from here.

The Replay .rar file is available here.

I suspect that person is me, as you turned in to me and broke my engine!

You lost control of your car lining up for the last corner on lap 1, and I went past you. Unfortunately you turned back in and hit the back of my car. I think you should have known I was there, given I'd been behind you for the last few corners and so should have been more careful. I know it was your first race, and you need to learn etc, so I don't hold a grudge. But I will be grassing you up to the stewards  Grin

Annoyed as I was to have to drive another (whole) race in a car with no top end grunt after the bump, at the end of the day it has probably only cost me one or two places, given other retirements. I couldn't get to grips with this circuit, and my qualifying PB of 213.8 was so far off the pace of the front of the grid that I had little hope of doing well. Maybe it was this blind pessimism that caused me to fall off the track halfway round the first lap, and put me at the back of the train towards the end of the lap.

...and just to top off the weekend** I've just come back from a 200 mile round trip to Silverstone to stare at an icy track, instead of getting to play with a single seater.......not sure if I should be grateful I wasn't on the other server or not....

** Yes, I know its only Saturday lunchtime, but given my luck so far.........  Roll Eyes

Merry Xmas/Bah Humbug everyone.....

I'm sorry Arf-Arf, you are quite right, I slid wide and tried to recover without realising you would dive for the inside, must be aware of that, especially if a faster driver is catching me.Thank you for your help before the race, and your consideration for my poor driving .I must also go and apologise to Zampedri for a similar accident later, when the situation was reversed.
cheers David

This is an apology to Zampedri, for the racing accident on lap 5 yesterday on turn 2  :(at Sepang, I turned inside of you but hadn't realised that your line was different to mine, so was on your inside as you took your normal racing line, I hope the resulting crash didn't adversely affect your racing situation unduly.
cheers David

Mate I symapathise and did apologise. I was stranded round a blind bend. What was I supposed to do wait there and let others coming round hit me where I was !!! My car was still good to go, I thought best to try and move out of the way, I failed and ruined your race, my fault totally and believe me I'm sorry, but it happens. Ditto Clive, I'm sure he never meant to make contact but it happens and I have no hard feelings. Like everyone, I assume, I'm just grateful that we should get a second chance with a rerun sometime.
Sorry again Nicky.
