Sorry to David for the untidy start. A little too much gas sent the car sideways.
I was very lucky on lap 1 when the blue Brabham skidded across the track, taking our the car immediately in front. I was expecting to run into the accident but the cars just disappeared as I arrived on the scene.
I've never managed to make the Eagle work well here but my team mate Dave showed how it was done & blew past my Fezza on the long straight. After swapping places with Maddog I settled into a race pace which saw me slowly dropping back from the front three of Dave Mikos & Dulima but gradually pull away from the cars behind.
I was relatively happy with P4 - until I saw the results.
Miguel - if you read this you need to look at the 67 Privateers series announcement & how the tokens system works. Bad luck on being excluded.
I was grateful for a second podium place this season.

For me, it worked out a lot better than expected.

I was wavering between the Honda & Eagle, but a few laps in each told me to go with the Eagle.
Although my pre-event Eagle time was 1 second slower than my best ever with the Honda,  I was then over 2 seconds slower with the lumbering (but adorable) Honda.

Billy's non-traditional start did allow me to sneak past David R. Was also relieved to have missed the incident further round on the 1st lap.

Race soon settled down & I was happy to follow Billy.  However, a couple of laps later I was about to have a couple of cars nibbling away at my rear, so ideally wanted to try a safe pass if possible to reduce that particular pressue.

It was probably a combination of me having spent the extra couple of tokens (most expensive on the grid) and Billy just touching the kerbing on the exit of Moss, which may have caused him to lose out along the back straight.  Also, maybe his car was also not quite as wide as it could have been.

Towards the end of the race, was edging up on Mikos in 2nd,  just wanted to be there in case an opportunity arose.
With 1 lap to go, I ran a bit wide on my exit from Moss & I thought that was it.  But unluckily for Mikos,  he lost it in a bigger way a couple of seconds later which allowed me a free pass.   As it ended up, the pass didn't matter due to the token overspend - so unlucky on that too.

Congrats to Dulima up front & also to Billy for picking up the other podium spot.

Don't know where that race FL came from. Hard to check due to GPLRank offline,  but I think that is a new PB by about 0.7s.

Cheers all.
Dave.
