As I did last week, I'll be arriving a little late tonight, probably just before the start. I'll start the server earlier, so it's ready for the start of practice.

That was turning out to be a good race despite qualifying somewhere in the middle of the pack. The flag dropped very quickly which seemed to catch a couple of drivers napping so I made up a place or two by T1 and thanks to Jethro who appeared to take someone out at the hairpin made up another place. Followed Jethro for a lap which cost some time as he was very erratic and so I decided not to risk a pass, but thankfully he took himself off at Tarzan to leave some clear road to Tim who was by now a few hundred yards away.
Had Syd snapping at my heels for a few laps until lap 7 after Tim spun at Tarzan whilst giving a predatory Goran some room on the inside. Tim reversed back on the track which I managed to avoid but which cost enough time to let Syd past. As Syd was off-line we were very close for the next couple of turns. Unfortunately Syd got a bit sideways, I think from being so off-line on the entry and came back across to tip me over as I tried to take advantage of his slide.
Anyway, hope you all had a better race and congratulations to the podium!

Quick summary: good qualy after sorting the car's setup to stop spinning me at every opportunity. Stable car on low fuel got me a decent time for mid-grid, stable car on high fuel got me a good race setup.
Start: good getaway, jumped one car then had the bright idea of letting other people decide whether they were gonna hit me up the gearbox or not. Early braking on L1 FTW.
L1: apologies to whoever it was (time passes so hazily I forget) who cut across my nose to then slide into the t2/t3 bales at the hairpin. Early braking FTL and mis-opportunist driving FTL.
Mid-race: apologies to Bartosz who I creamed into the side of when I fudged my braking for Tarzan. He was already off the track, but no way could I avoid hitting him in time before I realised I was heading off-track. Had he not been there, my race would have likely been over, but ironically his car was perfectly placed to save my bacon. Late braking FTW.
Later laps: oh dear gods Bernie what on earth possessed you to try that? Did Satan himself pass you a bribe to rejoin on the exit of the right-left-right in front of Tim and me?! Gave me a little heart attack, gave Tim a bigger heart attack! No lifting FTW!
And I improved my PB here (draft assisted) to below 1:28 in the race. Mid 1:28 on qualy fuel. Good race!

I was hoping for good result in my first historic race.
In qual I've made my PB, I couldn't improve it without tow so I've took my racing setup and started warming up before the race.
Start was good, but FMG had it better, so we were 2w in T1 and T2. Before hairpin Tim has passed me, so I took my normal line and then JW hit me(I need to watch server replay, but on mine there's no way that you could pass me there Jethro).
When I recovered I was on P8 or P9 and started to push very hard. When I cached drivers in front, they started to made mistakes, first JW then Syd.
Before the main straight I caught up with Dave. He took inside line into T1 and I was on outside. I didn't wanted us to tough, so I was at the tracks edge. That was a mistake. My car was little unstable under braking, and my left tyres hit the dirt. That send me into dunes, but nothing serious happened until JW lost control over his car and hit me(again).
My car was handling very bad, and afther another spin I've decided that it's to dangerous for to drive in car like that.

Just my little piece. hoping I would get high marks for "artistic impression" , my best back flip summersalt and triple salko failed miserably to take the leaders out , wasn't a bad effort , a bit more pracise and I will soon be close to your level of incompetence

I really hoped to put up a better show than this. I was motoring around by myself and must have not paid attention to the revs because on lap 5 after the Tarzan, I blew the engine big time. I was so surprised that at first I didn't realize what had happened.
I'll be absent for the next race.

Not much to say really. Good quali, second on the grid. Good start, second, stupid mistake, 4th, then up to 3rd and the race was over.
Well there was a missunderstanding when I was lapping a backmarker that nearly took me out but only nearly and I managed to hang on to my 3rd position. At that time I was a little upset because Clive and H had been into some trouble as well and were only a couple of seconds ahead at the time.

I got the worst of the Jethro/Pod incident on lap 1 which was like one of those motorway pile-ups. Dave braked to avoid a spinning Pod, then I braked but gently clipped the back of Dave's tyre without incident, then Syd hit the back of my car which unfortunately spun me round. Had to wait for everyone to pass before I could rejoin & thought the track was clear but rejoined right in Bookie's path (sorry Bookie). After all that I seemed to lose my concentration & kept making silly mistakes by overdriving. Had great fun racing Pete, Steve & Bernie - so much fun in fact that everytime I passed any of them, I'd spin off so I could go back & do it again. And again. And again Best moment was tailing Bernie - he lost it round the back of the circuit, speared off up the bank & ploughed into the crowd but just as I thought I was past, he came flying back onto the track & somehow landed the right way up & still in front of me, the jammy git! WD to H, Clive & Goran.

That's the only downside with that corner, the barrier/bales tends to spit people back onto the track. The nature of the corner means that almost any line with enough speed gets you around it, but there's no run-off to speak of I've yet to have a look at the replay, I will try to do so tonight.

I had a mixed race, with some ups and downs, but luckily it ended on a high. I couldn't quite shake off Evil in the first laps, mainly due to the very long slipstream in this mod, so he kept up with me and almost attempted a couple of passes, but I could brake later and hold him off. Eventually he made a mistake and dropped 7 seconds back, but I wasn't sure if I had enough fuel so I tried to short shift a bit and that allowed him to reduce the gap to 4-5 seconds. With 3 to go I was passing Bernie who was involved in a fight with Phil and Steve, and probably didn't see me coming, so he turned into me at the last corner and we both spun into the grass. I rejoined just as Evil made it by, but then he was slowed down by the backmarker battles ahead of him, so I could catch up and with 2 to go make a pass around the outside of T1. The only thing I had to do was get a good exit on the s/f straight for the final lap and deny him the chance to attack by using my slipstream. Fortunately for me he bogged down somewhere and dropped a few tenths back, which was enough to reach the finish first. A great 1-2 for Waza! Or as Jethro, who finished 5th, remarked: a new motorbike - Waza 125!

Yes, sorry again for that one H . I could see the blues being waved and a car behind , but wasnt sure if it was the leader or either Phil or Steve or Al . Decided that if it was the leader behind , then the oncoming straight was the obvious place to pass , thought it best to keep to the racing line and let you decide when , but certainly didnt see you close up the inside and I guess we both had a shock . Boy was I glad to see you drive away unharmed , I tell you I would have hidden away for a month if i 'd ended your race . That's twice now in one race , a new PB ? does it mean I'm getting better On the "rejoin" elswhere, I wasn't helped by the "Boss" screaming blue murder at my cat which decided to present me with a very much alive mouse which was making a last bid for freedom in my room . I actually made a very cautious and correct re join at the apropriate angle to the track , a little problem though because I lost direction in the sandhills and when I recovered the track I was going the wrong way Up to that point the rest of the race had been brilliant with Phil , Steve and Al being very close for most laps , good clean racing of the UKGPL kind BTW Hristo, I did wonder if the "tow" effect might have caused you to close up to me faster than planned , although I didnt notice much tow effect in "my" Lot33 , I couldnt tow by Phil or steve on the straight , they always had the legs on me, but I seemed better under braking into tarzan ? yet Al could catch up and fly past me on the straights .

Well, if you're fighting a car with a more powerful engine, you won't notice the tow as much as the other way around. E.g. Evil would close up on me much quicker on the straights than I would. In fact, unless I had better exits out of corners, I could barely go slightly faster than him despite all the slipstream.
I see you had the same car as me, which is considered one of the weakest in terms of power (why didn't you take a faster car?), so it makes sense that Steve and Phil who had 2.7 engines would power away better.

Server replay now available in usual place. Yes cracking race Bernie. I was surprised to see you in the Lotus but I guessed you were just giving me a chance . Nice race with Steve too until I made a mistake on lap 25 (Replay Time 38 mins). I'd managed to make a pass on the inside into Tarzan but I obviously hadn't made a clean pass because I couldn't see Steve in my mirrors as we accelerated away out of the corner. On the approach to the left/right S bend I stayed right to not risk contact but I gave Steve too much room and I put a wheel on the grass and I went off .
