Just noticed that Beefpie's ( Joe Shaw ) 1967 mod lap record still stands around this track, some 6 years after his passing.
Given the strength of competition over the intervening years, that was/is some record.

Well said and spotted Clive I remember I beat his race record tho in the 5th Joe Shaw Memorial Trophy edition, earlier this year, in the last race at Dragon's Nest. But it wasn't registered as a championship race. This time the race record could be beaten by a few I think (and being registered) but I expect the quali record to be still standing after the event!

So sorry Doni I thought I had left enough room for you to take the apex and was looking forward to another race long duel. I thought that you might be able to continue until I saw a random wheel bouncing across the track Kinda lost heart after that and did not concentrate on the revs, so blew the engine after 6 laps.

Results and replay up. Subject to moderation Sam is champion-elect!
Honourable mention for yours truly, whom despite numerous brushes with the wall in the rather fragile Lotus, and despite the engine blowing on a quick one in qualifying, managed 22 laps before the laptop gave up the overheated ghost and killed the progress.
That would rather hasten my finding a suitable replacement... anybody got a second-hand PC or laptop they're willing to sell to a poor soul in the UK?

There are plans afoot to replace my current desktop PC early in the new year. ( Whisper it quietly but we might be going 3 screen!! just imagine the mess I can get in with that sort of technology?? ). No firm dates as yet, but the person in charge here says that I can have a new rig. Once I have that up and running you would be welcome to my old PC.

Another one lap special marred with a middling race effort . Managed the Pole and led off the line, but that was short lived as me and Bob tangled at the hairpin, demoting me to 4th. It didn't make much difference in the end as I simply couldn't match the pace of Bob & Dean in race trim, but I did have a nice battle with Andreas early on . I think I need to distinguish my race setups from my qualifying setups as I was struggling massively with overheating tyres. What to do about them I haven't worked out yet . Congrats on the win Bob and to Dean for 2nd place. Seems I've managed to win the title by finishing the most races but I'll take it all the same. And to top it off, Black Night Racing managed to win the team's trophy . Bit disappointing not to win a race this series, but just another reason to come back and compete with you all again . Thanks to UKGPL for hosting this season, good fun as always.

Hmmm... Clive... My script for this race clearly reads... > Clive takes out Sam early on. > Doni roars thru to victory in the race and nobbles the Works Championship Title. OH! IT WAS RE-WRITTEN?!?! Geeezzz... Why didn't someone tell me? Not to worry, Clive. Poo happens and I am in no way of a surly mind regarding the results for either the race or the title. I may have caught you off-guard with my braking for T1 although I did hit my mark spot on. This is a difficult corner where even a slight overrun of speed leads to scrambling to save an embarrassing moment further on. It's a classic example of in slow, out fast. Grats on the race win, Bob! Good job by Dean for a P2. Sam scoring a podium. I noted in GPLRA's Race History Graph that all three had some 'moments'. Indeed, I was watching Sam live at one point when he looped it in T1 and drilled the outer wall rather sharply. That Honda is built tough! Hearty congratulations to Sam on being crowned our Works Champ! In all honesty, he's most definitely superior to my abilities. Quite pleased to finish with the runner-up position in the title chase equal on points with Andreas. Good job, AG! As I never ran anything pricier than a Cooper all season, can I claim the 'Group 1' award? More on this elsewhere...

If I'd not lost so much time extricating myself from my first off in T1... bah. Grats on win, Bob, and to Sam for season title. Noticed we had nine different winners this year ( still not including me ), four "one hit wonders", and that all three of my podiums were ahead of Sam and behind someone making their only podium finish. Odd. Thanks to organizers, looking forward to more next season.

I think you were a bit unlucky Dean...probably had fewer 'moments' than me, only yours took longer to recover from. Your race pace seemed pretty good, I was relieved after you relinquished the lead because I wasn't really making inroads. Also pleased that my pace was keeping you honest!
I honestly wasn't expecting much from this race and was surprised to be P2 on the grid. Sorry once again to Sam for the contact, it looks like a cheeky bit of warp from the server replay too. We were on very different lines and I wasn't trying to pass. Warp seems to afflict me, even though my connection is reliable and I plug in, not sure what to do about it.
I have raced here a time or two and generally did poorly, so I wasn't too excited about the prospect. Glad to see I didn't affect Sam's c'ship, congrats. Not made too many races this season...I now have three little ones to keep me busy, great all the same tho.
Thanks for organizing,
Bob.
