Fun races Cookie. No problems with the 60fps but I can't say it was a massive improvement either. My system is pretty capable anyway so I can run with full details at either 60 or 36. Both are fine.

Can't make next Tuesday as I will be in Wales but I will be there in two weeks.

Right !
I've not noticed so much difference between 36 and 60 fps to say one is better than the other one. I've seen fps going up and down so at that point I didn't mind that. Sometime I had a little freeze instead.

Sorry, I am a really bad looser, anyway I had no problems with the 60fps stuff but I do not see the big improvement. What is it that one should notice about it? It does not keep the car on the track that is for sure  Grin

Göran

To me its the difference for my eyes, I can do these 2 races without having problems with concentration and not doing a single mistake...
If you are more used to the 60fps you will feel it!

PS
Looking at the result tables, not a single disco!?

I agree with you, Axel, 60 fps is a great improvement in GPL.
I have a little variation in frame rate only on GT because this cars have more polygons than other mods, and suffer especially if we drive all the same car (but it's sufficient to reduce viewing dinstance at 50% to have stable fps in all conditions).
Also my eyes say 'thank you' at 60 fps.

After a couple of races, i have learned what mean flags in GPL.
Green flag (at start): go full throttle and kill driver in front of you (Raoni docet).
Blue flag: defend your position and avoid to be overtaked, at all costs (Jason docet).
Yellow flag: go full throttle and hit all things are moving on ground (almost all racers docet).
Green flag: a steward is greeting you, nothing important.
White flag: a driver in front of you go slow, crash into him and help his car to regain speed (flying, if possible ...).
Black flag: this is highest award in GPL, stewards wait you at pit to give you prize "Best Killer of the Year".
Checkered flag (at finish): pity, you cannot kill other drivers; but, you can ever go in reverse gear and make a series of burnouts behind finish line (Tristan docet).
I also have understand that "Fun Race" is acronym of "Demolition Derby Race" ...

P.S.: thanks Fulvio, my english is "uno schifo" ("very bad").

Lol Alex,

Welcome to online racing UKGPL style. That is why we have the penalties in formal races but we would prefer drivers to behave well without the stick...

In any case, I am very cross with you for taking me out at Spa after my storming start. Admittedly you were going backwards at the time, but reversing on the track is very naughty Wink

big fps problems at Spa  , it was undrivable , many cars surrounded  :'(

Watkins Glen 69x race was better , lonely race from start to finish.

 Wink
One more time thanks to Axel for this great Ferrari cup .
As well a nice way to make 60fps more popular , hopefully .

Afaik :  biggest advantage of 60fps over 36fps  I read  , should be , collision box is updated  double time /fast . This should lead to closer car to car racing  . especially online less warp contact .

Guess , as long your PC couldn’t handle 60fps solid , you wont benefit of ….

To me everything was great working in both of yesterdays  races .
But apart from that its maybe an good idea to set server to what the readme told :
5/84
5/384
client 5/84
server5/32

it may worth a try .

two things I noticed as an disadvantage of 60fps :
-   While offline AI cars do accelerate much too fast , especially at start .
Not sure if this could be solved by tweaked AI.ini for each track ..
-   I got the impression that counter steering is over sensitive .

As to the races :
Big hand to winners .
At Spa I messed up by myself  in last lap and at WG I survived one kick out .
But in both races I got very lucky results , considering the fact I was much slower then the front runners .

Real big fun . looking forwards to next Ferrari event

edit: maybe we should interchange our specs&settings in that `60fps how to `thread . To see what can be done to make 60fps run proper for all users .
