Didn't get any time to prep for this race thanks to my annual habit of not-doing-my-tax-return-until-the-very-last-moment. Having endured the torture of HMRC all day
, 15 laps of Clermont would be like a walk in the park. During practice I managed to cobble together a few tweaks to my usual setup so it felt pretty good, but of course forgot to test it out on race fuel
. This led to me being very tentative for the first few corners & while I was finding my way, a fast-starting Clutch took full advantage & passed me before turn 2. After a few laps I started to find my feet & began to step up my pace as I tailed Clutch & Evil, but sadly I got a bit too cocky & pranged part of the scenery & went off. After a few laps I was able to catch up with Clutch & Evil again but my slightly-deranged suspension left the car rather unpredictable & before too long its wayward handling sent me spinning off again (and again). By the end of the race, I'd finally figured out how to compensate for the wonky wishbones & surprised myself by getting into the 3:22's on the last lap but by then it was far too little & much too late. Congrats to the podium finishers.
