Moderator's Report

The first race of the 3rd PSC season in S23 had some driver mistakes, but only one reported incident and one in the red zone...

The Porsches make close racing possible, but there are limits!
The collision box is bigger than the car!

Allways remember: we are racing in PRO long distance mode!

Server replay time: 0h02m35s

Even team mates should be more careful in the red zone!

Server replay time: 0h16m09s

Nicky brakes earlier into the International Horseshoe and Marco misjudges his breakpoint.

Thaks anyway!
At last the horror to miss another nice race brought me to change the things I thought not very importants for the problems and...instead all went good. I've changed the VC's settings thinking perhaps I've changed some setting badly, so I've reverted to...AUTOMATIC and...all went good. After that, I've changed a single setting a time trying to find which one was causing the problems and...strangely all the things were good by themselves !?!?!? GPL still has something imponderable for me !!!

Jason, your more than welcome to have a run on behalf of the "Pulse Racing" team  Grin

I shan't be taking part this race, due to illness & serious lack of drive time (None) So, anyone looking for a drive is welcome.

Hope to back on deck for the next round.

I won't race this night, I have a committment with my father, so there is a Pro spot free for Team 7 for whoever want to race.

So we will have:

Natan (FT) Pro -> This race Team 7 Racing
EvilClive (FT) Pro -> This race Team Makikas
Jason Blito (R1) Nov -> This race Team Pulse Racing

Maybe a good solution to have a good grid Wink

The driving standard in this race was appalling. Soon after the start, some people seemed to be too aggressive and fell back, so I was left leading, exchanging positions with Alex. I was letting him pass me on the straights so we would pull each other along, but he would rather go defensively into T1 so we kept losing time and that allowed Evil to cling on to us, with Axel approaching fast as well. Eventually Barresi spun off, Axel hit me and went off too, and then Evil didn't want to follow the plan of pulling along either, so he also went off by pushing too hard. That elevated me back to 1st place, but then I came upon to lap Zampedri, but he just turned into me like I didn't exist and we both spun. Just after I continued, he again went into me in the next corner and spun me off...

After dropping to 7th or so, I quickly caught up with a group of cars fighting for 4th to 6th position, and passed 2, then engaged in a short battle with Mercaldo. Short, because he was obviously overdoing it and as a result hit me on the side at T1 when I was on his outside and spun me off. My car was already damaged at this point, having been hit and having hit the walls as well a couple of times, so the handling suffered. Because of that and my attempt to recover, I had some offs on my own and couldn't really progress anymore, but managed to bring it to the finish.

I won't even bother filing reports, I just hope the people who drove like maniacs would learn that you don't win a race so early, but you sure lose it. And also, it's MUCH quicker for 2 drivers if they pull each other along with slipstream, instead of one driver taking a defensive line. I'm talking about the oval part. Go watch some oval racing and see for yourself.

And a word for the start - it was VERY confusing that the grid was 1/3rd of the lap before the actual s/f line and nobody seemed to have a clue whether we have to do another full pace lap or we start immediately at T3. I just waited to see if the cars behind me would floor it out of the corner or not, before I accelerate harder. It would have worked much better if we just had the original grid on the s/f line and do a full pace lap.

Rolling ZONE    =    from the start to the exit of the International Horseshoe

How can this be misinterpreted?
I have done some races here and there was allways trouble in T1, T2 and T3...
IMO it worked well!

Agreed. T1 at Daytona is usually a bloodbath. The rolling start worked well.

Grats to the Axel, Sergio and guest Makikas driver Clive (great drive Clive). Fellow Makikas drivers Stefano and myself had a slightly more subdued evening but well done anyway. I had a few problems joining the server (they were of my own making), so started from the back of the grid. I thought the rolling start worked really well from where I was so no complaints from me. Sticking to the racing line and performing no heroics in the breaking zones I began to pick up a few places passing where possible or when people ran wide. But at half distance a coming together with a fellow driver resulted in some loss of power and a lap later the engine simply died on me, such is life. Grats again to the podium, Stefano and all who finished. See you all next time.

This can be misinterpreted because you have write T3 during pre-race chat, and this is wrong: International Horseshoe it's T2, that it's clearly indicated by a 2 on track map.

Son, change pusher: in my very short race, i have only mantained my position, without overtake or be overtaked by anyone and without spun.

It was a bit of a slog TBH. H is right about my driving - it was appalling  Grin I was pleased to get a sub 2:00 lap in, which for me was pretty good. At first I had a bit of racing with Stefano and Fran but a few silly mistakes left me with a big gap to Signor Molteni which I closed up and then went off, closed up and went off. Only kept going for the team...

I really hate Ovals but not as much as I would hate Cerne's running at my pace - it will be overtaking hell for me Sad
