Nothing reported outside the first lap, so, was the Red Zone clean?
No. :(

Johnny has been caught either side by Al and Fabio. Johnny tries to leave racing room for the Italian but doesn't see the other Ferrari coming up. It look from the overhead as if Johnny strays across the track into Al's path.
The rules have this: "On a straight, the overtaking car moves out to overtake, maintains his line and has NOT achieved 100% overlap but the overtaken driver moves across into him. Penalty for overtaken driver."
There is, however, no indication of steering movement on either of the drivers part. They simply drift into each other. It is clear, however, from the overhead view that although Johnny maintains his line he is driving slightly across the track but the same is not true of Al.
Interestingly Johnny had felt that Al had driven into him and Al thinks it is Johnny
It was also going to be hard to get three abreast into T1 and here it proves impossible.
Neither driver does much wrong but as Johnny has got his line wrong I have issued him with a caution as the lowest penalty available.

Al is turned around and the red mist has descended. Ross is clearly visible coming but Al tries a doughnut to get going and ploughs into Mr Hawkey who did nothing wrong.
Sadly for Al this is about as bad a rejoin as you can get and I have no choice but to penalise him.
Rules have this: "The rejoining driver was NOT in full control but nevertheless attempted to drive straight back onto the racing line without any consideration for other drivers and contact was made."
Having done nothing wrong in the previous incident Al ends up heavily punished. It is a reminder that you cannot win at T1 but you can lose there.
The only mitigation is that the redraw limits would have made Ross 'appear' suddenly but Al is experienced enough to know that the move was risky. Nonetheless I have reduced the penalty by one place.

Al's interesting first lap continues. He is making up ground and as Ross takes avoiding action to go round the stranded Boggy (who has had a solo spin at the hairpin) he is confronted with a road blocking red chassis. He has nowhere to go but kindly taps Mr Marshall round.
Well done to Boggy to just stay still - it was the best thing to do in the circumstances. Al should take note!
