Moderator's Report

Only 10 racers at the start, but 3 incidents during red zone.
Also 1 reported incident after red zone.

It seems several drivers, among the most experimented, do not remember what is red zone !

3 racers did a shift-R but all followed by a stop and go in the pits.

Server replay time: 0h00m40s

At the very first corner of the race, Walter braked too early (that's what he wrote on the race topic) and was marginally rear ended by Fabio (Walter asked for no penalty for Fabio).

Also lag was involved, wheels don't touch.

By the way, Fabio should have been more cutious on the first turn.

Server replay time: 0h01m00s

Martin looses control on the grass and hit my car.

Server replay time: 0h01m02s

Billy loose control and hit Paul's car.

Server replay time: 0h02m05s

After red zone, Paul loose control on the grass and hit Billy's car.

Billy - Paul : 1 - 1 !

Moderation read.  All the race incidents mentioned would until recently, have received a penalty.  Moderation policy has changed.  This stuff is kept dark and mysterious at Ukgpl.

Penalties were stiffened a while back, because cars tangled too often.  Relaxed penalties mean you're generally happier with our behavior.  Most are experienced, and you wish to be friendly.  It would seem friendly to explain policy choices, so I just did! Tongue Roll Eyes

The moderation team is in full discussion how we can prevent Start/Red Zone incidents in particular, well at least the frequency it happens. Some think harsher penalties should be applied ec., but in the end it's the mindset of the driver which is most important.

IMO one has to have a mindset to avoid incidents at all costs, especially on Lap 1 when the cars are bunched up. Also being relaxed yet focussed, and finding a balance between being agressive, cautious, and clear headed at the same time. It might be a bit too much too ask but if we all would have a certain mindset and showing a bit more respect to our fellow competitors (try to put yourself in their place) I think  most incidents wouldn't happen.

About our accident on 1st lap still on red zone, I would have given you a penalty (at least 1 place + 1 for red zone).
But, as I was part of this accident, I could not moderate this one ... other moderator(s) did it and they were more kind than me !

I think you should be happy !

No problem either way David,  I am not working towards a championship win.  The sudden change is important, as different decisions from different Moderators, are reason for unrest amongst the natives.  Good to know and advertise here, that things are clear.  I also think Roberts philosophy is a good one.

BTW, our race was exciting because I did not practice on race fuel.  This was because a free Nurby reset rule during practice, was not announced, and I was kept busy destroying cars, and returning directly to the pits from the hospital. wacko
