Moderator's Report

A report has been submitted regarding the late re scheduling of this race.
The start time was changed at short notice so that members could watch the US F1 race live on tv. From what I have gleaned from the forum and in exchanges with other mods, this was considered as acceptable by the majority of those registered for this race.
However, I can understand the frustration of those whose participation in the event was made impossible by this action.

The organisers and moderators draw up the timetable of all races at the beginning of each season, trying to fit in the maximum number of races to a limited number of available slots. Cancelling races is an absolute last resort and rarely happens. Re scheduling is preferable and as much prior notice as possible should be given on the forum.

It is almost inevitable that at least one race will clash with a major live televised event at some point in any season and all we can do is raise awareness of the possibility as early as possible and take a straw poll amongst members as to what we should do.

In this instance the result will stand.

Moderator's Report

The only incidents in this race were around Fran who appeared to have joined the race with 60fps activated. As a result his car appeared to be warping very badly from the other drivers viewpoints and caused many problems for cars trying to pass.
I think Fran has realised his mistake and hopefully next season such problems will not arise and everyone will be running 60fps for all races.

Welcome to the S27 F2 Championship - Round 7 - Falkenberg

Round 7 of the Formula 2 Trophy, we go to Sweden. The Falkenberg track is short, WR for F2 cars is ~41sec so far, so there will be many lapping situations, be aware

There will be no handicaps this season but, much like the 67-based series, tokens will be used!

Matra MS7 FVA :       16 tokens
Matra MS5 FVA :       14 tokens
Brabham BT23 FVA : 14 tokens

Please check the Season 27 pages for details regarding rules and the Formula 2 Trophy pages in particular.

There will be two championships - Lights and Heavies (for slower drivers) who will contest separate championships but sometimes on the same grid.

You have ONE SHIFT-R with a Stop n Go of 0 seconds!
Only Reported incidents moderated outside the Red Zone
Full moderation of lap one Red Zone

I presume most of us want to watch F1 live...
We will start our Qualification 21:45 UK time for 20 min, Race will start ~ 22:10 UK time

Time = 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT)
Qualifying time = 45 - 30 minutes
Race time = ~21:30 UK time
Red Zone = full first lap.
Replays = you get here

Please restrict chat to only urgent messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave a full (19 driver) server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Please ensure you have enough tokens in your bank to be able to take the desired chassis!

Good luck all!

If you are not qualified for Austin just make Falkenberg  Grin

Falkenberg is a very narrow track, without any easy possibility to overtake and a lap is about 40-42 seconds ...
I cannot imagine what could happen with 15 or 17 over excited drivers  Smiley
I think it will be harder to survive here than in Dundrod  Undecided

Its a go Cart track !

It's  a go OFF cart track!   Downloaded it the other day & had a few spins around the place;   only a few seconds of the pace then.

Probably won't make it;  unless Austin is finished by 21:30!

Cheers,
Dave.

The Austin F1 race will start 20:00 UK time (21:00 CET) and will last ~1:45 h. (2013 the race lasted 1:40 h)

I presume most of us want to watch F1 live...

So I propose to start our Qualification 21:45 UK time for 20 min, Race will start ~ 22:10 UK time
