I have traditionally used a G25 with sequential shifter for GPL. A couple of months ago I had to stop using the shifter because it kept changing down without me telling it to. Not enjoying using the flappy paddles (which I prefer to use for looking left/right) Have just taken it apart to try and see why, but couldn't. I did find a post from Tommie from years ago saying he'd had problems with his G25, but simply taking it apart and putting to together again fixed it - having found nothing apparently wrong inside, I'm trying to put mine back together. When I opened it I found two small springs (maybe 12-15 mm long). I don't quite see where they go back - they appear to go somewhere in the centre of the assembly, but nothing obvious. When I opened it they did appear to be attached to anything, but seemed to sit below the metal piece that extends/retracts according to the position of the selector for sequential/H-shifting.

Any ideas?

Arf

p.s. Hoping to fix the one I have, but if anyone has a G25 shifter sitting around and would consider selling it let me know.

That's the guide I used to take it apart. Interestingly, the link on You Tube doesn't exist, so thanks for finding the site - you can see the springs in Step 10...

...although I'd already worked it out. Although I was meticulous with the screws, and kept them all ordered so I knew exactly where they cam from, I was less precise with the larger parts....I found that there are two parts to the centre selector, and part of my subconscious was playing games with the rest, as it told my hands to hide it under some tools, so I wouldn't see it until I'd put the shifter back together.....

...now that I have put it back together, I will have to take it apart again, as the gear changer isn't recognised....can't be bothered doing it tonight, so that'll have to wait til next weekend...

Cheers Cookie
