In the practice immediately before qualifying I got down to a 1:39+ for the first time, then saw that six drivers on the grid ahead of me had better times than my PB. Still, I felt good and steady here. I took over 5th when Billy and Dave went into the weeds early on. And I held that position, neither gaining or losing anything much. My tranquil spirit came apart around L20 when the Cooper's engine exploded, the first loss of that sort I've had in three years of racing in this league. My stop-and-go cost me two places. From there it was just a case of holding on, finishing in 7th where I'd started.

I did the best I can to follow Ricardo and Du but they were faster.
After 27/28 laps I had a gap of around 15 seconds with them when suddenly I saw only 4 seconds (Andreas told me the 2 drivers had an accident but could restart without shift-R).
So I tried to run at my limits but unfortunately it was the moment I took one lap to Dave C and Pepe.

Sorry Pepe, for the first rearending : I was surprised by your early braking on the last turn before the finish line.
Dave C was coming too and there was another contact.
Hopefully our 3 cars could finish the race without losing places.

Not a bad race. Eric slipped past on the first lap & I had my only mistake in turn one which allowed Andreas & Pepe through. Quite a battle to get past Andreas & was expecting another hard contest with Pepe although looks like his engine blew before it got interesting. I made up some ground on Eric but needed many more laps to close up. Looks like a really close battle for the win.
