Some of you might remember that Andy Livingston and myself have been doing the Grand Tour of UK motor sport venues for the past couple of years.
On our travels we try and meet up with other simracers/GPL'ers and have a chat whenever we can.

Well, this coming weekend we will be in the Haydock area visiting 3 Sisters on Sat morning 7th Sept ( open track day for people to run their own cars and wreck them!) and then going to Aintree for the afternoon for some sprint racing which finishes around 4:30pm. Hopefully we can sneak a look at what is left of the original GP circuit, but Google Earth appears to show that only the section which is now used for sprints is still existing?!.

The intention was to visit Anglesey on Sunday 8th. but the Sunday meeting has been cancelled  Undecided.  However, we have late Saturday afternoon and evening free before we get to our hotel in Halkyn ( which would have been ideal for the Anglesey visit ). We are debating whether to amend our Sunday plans and do Buxton for the World Finals of the F2 Stockcars, or head back south and call in at the Prescott Hillclimb.

Either way we would welcome some company on Saturday pm, maybe at Aintree and/or afterwards for a bite to eat and a drink in the Haydock area.
Anyone who feels foolish enough to want to meet up, just drop me a PM and we can exchange mob numbers etc and arrange a get together.

Thanks Mike, PM received  Wink.

It goes without saying that anyone else from the simracing community would be welcome to join us like minded enthusiasts at either/or both venues. Just drop me a PM with contact details so that we can hook up and get the gang together.

Sadly I'm not at Aintree this weekend for the sprint, we are at Blyton Park near Gainsborough Sat and Sun.

Well, I think that was bad planning on someone's part  Undecided  Either we should have gone to Gainsborough, or Matt should have been at Aintree  Undecided

I need to do Blyton to get enough rounds in for Classic Marques.

Next possible event for Roger and I is Shelsley Walsh 21/22 Sept if we get in, then possibly Anglesey 5th 6th Oct, work permitting

For any of you curious about our Grand Tour weekends, Andy has his own excellent blog ( which also covers his fascinating wilderness treks on Dartmoor, Snowdonia etc as a bonus).

Check it out here       https://dartmoorandroid.wordpress.com  with pics and comments

Thanks for coming out to meet us Mike and Phil, Andy and I always feel it is good to put real faces to a virtual personas, and we find that we have some great meet ups with fellow simracers. Last weekend was another thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

3 Sisters was much more entertaining than we had expected with the various cars, drifting etc. Aintree was interesting because of it's historic links although the access to viewing areas was limited. The cancelling of Sunday's action at Anglesey threatened to spoil the fun, but an early start and a drive South to the Prescott hillclimb proved to be a masterstroke. There was some tremendous action and some very fast cars ( and one or two slow ones!) going up the hill, the outright course record was broken plus several class records.
