Season 38 - SC67 - Lola vs Ferrari Cup – Round 2 - Goodwood 65

For round 2 of the S38 Lola vs Ferrari Cup we go to Goodwood wich has never held a Sports Car World Championship race,
but where we now can see these historic sports car Legends every year at their Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed.

Please check the Season 38 details regarding rules and the Lola vs Ferrari Cup pages in particular.
In order to add an element of realism, and to hopefully reduce the possibility of rear-end incidents, the brake light patch will be used  eek

Race List =  IGOR
Server = UKGPL_8
IP Address = look at iGOR
Race date = 29-01-2021
GPL mod = SC67 - Lola / Ferrari only
60fps patch = 60fpsV2newmod
Track dir = goodwd65
Quali starts = 20:45  UK time -> 45min
Race starts = ~21:30 UK time
Race length = ~50 min -> 39 laps
Damage Model = Intermediate
Replay = here

Handicapping

"Works" drivers will carry extra weight in form of 10 gallons of race fuel (to remain in the tank after the race). No limit in quali!
Drivers are expected to behave in a fair and gentlemanly fashion and declare how much fuel they have left after the race.

In order to ensure there will be 10 gallons of fuel left after the race, the minimum race fuel load for Works is expected to be:

  • Lola T70 = 30 gallons (114 litres)
  • Ferrari P4 = 31 gallons (117 litres)

Two resets will be allowed (there is no need to carry out a Stop and Go in the pit lane if you make a Shift-R).

Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty.
Only reported incidents will be moderated.

Please restrict chat to emergency messages only including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Hi, Axel.  I just ran off a series of qualifying pace laps with the Lola(my intended ride for the Goodwood feature)with a three USG start fuel load.  I got 6.6 laps in before fuel starvation at 16psi set in.

Thanks David and Doni  Smiley

TBH Doni I am not used to calculate my racefuel with your imperial values Shocked
but it seems also ~ 1,9-2 Liter per lap

How did you measure 6,6 laps??? Grin

More precisely, I did 24 laps with 44 liters so it is 1,833 liters/lap

but for more security and because I hope to be quicker during the UKGPL race, I will rounded it to 2 liters /lap

Easy, peasy, Axel...

In this Goodwood test with the Lola, I followed my usual procedure of trying to set a best lap with qualifying fuel...in this case, 3 USG...and run til the fuel pressure starvation cuts in at 16psi.  I finish the lap...in this case, it was my seventh...to record it in replay, open GPLRA to see that last lap where the engine is spluttering, note the point in metres on the map graph where 16psi is reached and use that figure reference the overall lap length.  In this case, I believe that...from memory...it was 2200m / 3916 = 0.56; near as dammit to 0.6 so add that to the six laps run without fuel pressure starving the engine.  Net = 6.6 laps from 3 USG.

This is my methodology for all mods and events.  Does the job.  Smiley

I just use pribluda,
drive til the tires are warm and do look for the fuel in tank crossing a line.
then I do 2 or more laps and crossing this line I look again for the fuel.
divide the difference by 2 and voila...

Ah, but I don't use Pribluda(except for its dashboard readouts).  Any other data is not authentic.

Damn! Freeze on T1 during Lap or 9. I'm off for beer Sad

What is it that causes these freezes? I had one in the 65s at Cadwell Park on Tuesday as well. Is it the track?
