Season 41 1967F1 PRIVATEERS – Round 4 – Nürburgring

The 4th round of the 1967F1 championship takes us to the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in Germany.  It has enjoyed a reputation as a terrifying and merciless route through the Eifel forest. An English journalist who visited the Nordschleife during the opening race on 18 June 1927 concluded “that it seemed as if a reeling, drunken giant had been sent out to determine the route”. The Formula 1 driver Jackie Stewart – a three-time world champion in 1969, 1971 and 1973 – was so impressed by the circuit that he gave it the name it will probably never lose: the Green Hell (Grüne Hölle). Racing and winning on the Nordschleife has always been very special for racing drivers, because the track is one of the most demanding in the world. Tricky corners, treacherous crests, steep inclines and gradients and constantly changing road surfaces demand great skill from the drivers and provides the cars with a very hard test.

Hi All,

Does anyone have a nice "nurberg" folder they could let me have or point me in the right direction please.

I have 2 installs and don't like either. I tried the original from the CD and sadly that doesn't look too good these days

I looked at updating the graphics but there's so many options. I'm just looking for a nice immersive version that's as good looking as Spa '67.

Not that I'm asking for much ?. Lol.

Any help appreciated.  Cheers.

You could always try the Pit Stop patch. The details are here. But ONLY use version 1 which does refuelling but NOT tyre wear.

You could fuel for 3 laps, at the end of lap 3 pull in to refuel and have a comfort break. You will not be disconnected from the race provided you stay in your pit stall (you will know if you are because the refuelling process will only start if you are safely in your stall). I think the refuel will be quicker than your comfort break so your car will be ready to go when you come back.

Full distance is one challenge.  Without being lapped is another, but at least would keep race duration under 1 hour!

Good idea , if I could get 3 laps done without going into orbit , so far I haven't got 2 clean laps in together at any reasonable speed  Shocked

This is my least favorite of the original tracks, but I also know you can't call yourself a driver until you can get through this place with a benchmark time. I've done it once in a BT by a few thousandths. I just wanted to finish tonight and I did. All my competition in the standings finished ahead of me but I'll take a fourth here any day of the week.

My rough calculations show that David is now leading with 128, I have 125 (with a throw), and Philippe has 123. Could it get much closer than that?  Smiley
