Season 42 – 1965 F1 Championship

Please check the Season 42 details regarding rules and the 1965 F1 Championship pages in particular.

The races are all at UK tracks and ONLY use the UK Teams. (No Honda or Ferrari).

This season, races are to be run at 60fps – please use this patch 60fpsV2newmod. If you have issues read festers post.

Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

The races will be run as follows:

Car set: 1965 F1 only.
Date: Every second Tuesday from 17th January 2023
Time: No later then 9:00pm UK Time (30-60 mins practice, race starts at 9:30pm)
Race Length: 50 minutes
Damage Model:  Intermediate (Unlimited number of Shift-Rs are allowed with no need to make Stop & Go)
Server: TBA

Handicapping
A tokens system will be used with drivers being awarded tokens for starting the season and for starting each race. Each car will cost a number of tokens per race.

Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty.

Only reported incidents will be moderated.

I'm away for the opening race. I think the number of laps needs adjusting for Aintree. The other tracks look about right.

Opps, thanks for spotting that Bill. I've corrected the table. The Ferrari WR for Aintree is 1:46.845, so a 50min race would be about 26 laps.

Hmmm...

I notice that the GP67 F1's and the GP65 F1's are running Boreham on a back-to-back sked as we currently see it.  I wonder if a track substitution for one or the other or a new sked slot for one or the other is in order.  As well, the GP67 F1 race is slated for 32 laps and the GP 65 F1 race for 35.  Might it be better to be the other way 'round?

In fact,  June 6th is my wedding anniversary so a race on that day is looking unlikely. It'd be a shame for me to miss Boreham. Let's swoth Boreham and Castle Combe leaving Thruxton as the season finale.

Hi Pete, what if the token goes to zero ?... you can't race ? ...no car cost zero token ....!

You always get 10 tokens for starting a race. So 0 + 10 = 10 hence you can always drive Cooper or Brabham BT7.
