F1 69Xtra – Round 3 –  Spa-Francorchamps - Feb 19

Next stop of the 69X F1 at Spa-Francorchamps with the famous GP track in Belgium - some love it, some fear it...  Grin

In S42 the tokens system will be used with drivers being awarded tokens for starting the season and for starting each race. Each car will cost a number of tokens per race.
Check the Season 42 details regarding rules and the 1969 F1 Championship pages in particular.

Important - please read it

A few drivers were unable to race in the first two rounds because the server was full and there have been a number comments regarding the mixing of drivers of different abilities on the same grid. Consequently the mod team have decided to split the grid into Privateers and Works drivers. From now on there will be two servers, one for the Works and one for the Privateers. The moderators have allocated drivers to either Works or Privateer status. If you would like to change your allocated status, please post your preference in this thread.

Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty.
Drivers must complete 50% race distance to score.
MOD PRO so no shift-R
Only reported incidents will be moderated.

Have to vote myself back in for this series.
Perhaps a few more gentlemen drivers will be enticed to join with a split grid?
Sunday evening cruise through the Ardennes - what more could you want?

Good Call Billy. I'm sticking around too.

Now it's gonna be great for everyone.

Two servers is twice as good. Possibly thrice lol.

Please add Dave Curtis to the Privateers grid.
Dave was already registered for the series so I've just added him to the Privateers list above.

No. The Works password is above the lap records table. The Privateers password is below the lap records table (please ignore the statement that says you are "in Works").

Another way to differentiate, Cookie is starting the Works server, Phil Thornton is starting the Privateers server.

It's happened again this week.  Every 2 or 3 years, my 1969 carset refuses to load up.  It's Ok one day, and unavailable the next, without any reason for being, or unbeing so.  Computer cars should not need a rebuild every Season or two!  Do others here have this same problem?

Hoping a new GPL install, with a new set of 69x machinery, will run smoothly Online.  And to use a car I've never raced before.  It may need a sign stuck on the gearbox saying, "Running in, please pass."  Grumble! Sad

A question about this mode: does anyone know how to make the helmet I wear the one I have chosen? Let me explain: I have checked in all modes the red helmet, but in this carset there is no way to get that choice to be seen on the screen (I think the same thing happens in mode 55).
Thank you.

When GPL was young, our computers and Internet connections were slow.  The car models and the textures which made their colours, were simple and small.  Better models and better helmets have replaced the basic colour option.

It's possible to make your own helmet colours using 'Winmip,' to decompress the helmet .mip file, so you can paint any colour for it.  But changing the colour is no longer automatic.  You can also swap colours to another car, by copying & changing the helmet .mip name to the other car folder.  Careful though, as one missing .mip can stop the Mod from working.

I misjudged the tow at Spa (again!). I was sticking to the back of Doni but I misjudged the extra speed into Stavelot and I ran wide. Race over Sad

Good luck to those still running, I hope we get enough finishers for a full podium  Roll Eyes
