Season 42 – 1967 F1 – Round 4 – Privateers - Albi

The fourth race in the 1967 Grand Prix series finds us in South West of France. Racing first started on the Circuit des Planques in 1933, the pits and startline being on a short straight before the road twisted down into St.Antoine. At St.Juery the cars had to contend with an extreme hairpin bend, followed by a railway level crossing. The 5.531 mile circuit was shortened in 1951 to 1.859 miles, before being closed in 1955 following the Le Mans disaster. Racing resumed at the nearby Aerodrome in 1959 which is the circuit we now know as Albi. The Chicane du Sequestre was introduced in 1988. Albi has never hosted a championship F1 race, but it held a Formula Two race in 1967 and we will be using the layout used then. Jackie Stewart won that race in his Matra. He was followed home by Jochen Rindt in a Brabham and Jim Clark, who had spun his Lotus near the Dunlop bridge.

Yesterday I had 2 machines running; one with the old IP and the other with the new. Both seemed to work just fine. Weird.

In order to avoid confusion, do we all have to be on the same one or does it not really matter?

This is an unoffical answer Smiley

Both hostnames resolve to the same IP address, so at the moment - either work with the same results.

But, may depend whether the gplrank.de name is eventually dropped.
From a community support perspective - would be better to use a standard!

Lookup indicates:
Code:
Host info igor.gplrank.de 2/3000/50/0; 02/25/23 12:18:57
Official name: igor.gaiztor.com
IP address: 91.134.114.140
Aliases: igor.gplrank.de

Cheers,
Dave.

Just in case anyone is unsure how many tokens they have, hover your mouse over your points total in the championship table. The number of tokens you have (before the 10 you get for starting the next race) is displayed in a pop-up. So if 5 tokens appears in the pop-up, you will have 5 + 10 = 15 tokens available for the next race.

Unfortunately the pop-up only works once you have scored points. Until then (hopefully for most people only 1 or 2 races) drivers will need to calculate the tokens for themselves.

Please note: the "hover" mechanism doesn't work on a mobile phone.

Not my night.
Span off twice at Parc du Virages. There is a clear gap to rejoin the track on the right just before the Dunlop sign. Unfortunately the track builder included an invisible wall. The engine took some damage hitting the invisible wall so I parked the car. Not my night.

Bad news Billy, shame mate.  Was going well for me. having some great laps with Dave & David, managed a new PB too.

but about, I think 6 or so laps to go a big BOOM and a piston decided to part from a rod and come out through the engine block.

story of my GPL life " Pissed n Broke "  Lol.

was great fun while it lasted.  Love this track.

On about L12 as I was coming to the S/F line, Paul in front of me disappeared for a few seconds. As I was coming around T1, Pribluda went to all red except for me. The race server had dropped me again and I was bounced off. I know I'm the only privateer from the U.S., but I've got a wired connection to my router that gives me 350Mbps download and 17Mbps upload speeds without variance of any kind. This shouldn't be happening in the 21st century.

Hi Pepe, From my cockpit all seemed pretty solid FPS wise Etc.  I dont remember seeing you disappearing and re-appearing but Albert was behind and in front of me for a few laps, he was coming and going like crazy. really bad warp as far as I could see,

Had one or two frame rate drops but that was when I saw a message flash up.. I think it happens when people leave the server. only really had 2 incidents myself tonight until the engine exploded.  both times my car was difficult to control due to the FPS stutters when those messages popped up.

Shame if it spoiled your race mate.  I remember the days of dial up on a Modem.. dont want those days back.

Can see some logged disconnects/resurrects.

Have imported the race results as per the original replay - but can be investigated/adjusted as appropriate at a later time.

Cheers,
Dave.
