Still suffering with a touch of the peripherals, it took only 200 yards to loose a motor.

As there was a good chance of a DNF so I took the BT20 & saved the tokens. Lost concentration on the last lap & lost a wheel. It's a 14 mile round trip to go fetch it. Should be back in time for next Sunday's race.

I'm pleased to have survived another 6 laps of the ring, and 16 seconds quicker than my race time from Season 36 (the last time we raced these cars here). I was careful at the start and quite relieved to get through the first dozen corners unscathed. Well done everyone! I knew I wasn't going to be able to compete with the leaders on pace so I decided to drive for a finish and hope to pick up a few places if anyone had problems ahead. Uli's motor popped (very unlucky Uli, you were flying), Bob crashed at Metzgesfeld (I saw the crash and luckily I was far enough back to slow down and avoid the wreckage) and Evil must have damaged his car because I caught and passed him at the Karussell. I saw Enrique's Ferrari in the hedge at Ex-Mühle and I thought I'd picked up another place but he stormed back past me under braking for Südkehre and promptly disappeared into the distance. For the rest of the race I tried to manage the gap back to Fulvio and Pete. I drove as fast as I dared but they gradually closed me down until they were only about 100 metres behind at the finish. I'd like to say I managed the gap to perfection but that isn't true. I pushed as hard as I dared, I didn't want to crash. Another few hundred yards and they would have had me.

"You had one job."
So many amusing videos out there with that title. My job was to simply to finish in the Eagle and that was achieved. As a plus, scored four of the six laps 'On Track'. Not easy to do. Not sure where I scored the '64' on Lap01 but definitely know where I went off track on Lap02. It was the Swallowtail. I discovered quite a few years back that its construction is quite distinct from that of the Karussell. Having bungled my pass through there on Lap02, on subsequent laps, I took the high road and avoided the banking altogether.
Fine job by Andreas for the win! Well done to Axel and Ricky for scoring podium placings.

Difference between Works & Privateers is noticeable.
It depends on drivers and used cars ... With Eagle, Martin's best was quicker than Doni's (8m41s VS 8m53s) With BT20, Billy's best was quicker than Ricardo's (8m53s VS 9m14s) With BRM, Rainier quicker than Mikos (8m32s VS 8m39s)

All was going well for me in the BRM. Had a good start and allowed the leaders to pull away. I say "allow" but there was very little I could have done about it, even if I had wanted to!! lol. A few excursions and retirements up ahead lifted me to 3rd at one point and then things went bad. I had a tiring day and around lap 2 I began to get motion sick and nauseas. By the time Enrique recovered and passed me in his Ferrari I was not feeling at all well. Concentrating was difficult and in the end I simply parked the car and retired. Nothing wrong with the car and the gearing was keeping the revs under10.5K and low temps all round. 4th might have been possible if I had been OK but pleased to have the BRM working well. Grats to the podiums and to all finishers especially in the flightless wonders.

Congratulations to our sympathetic podium, I'm happy to see my friends up there , even though I would have liked to be there by myself because I had a good chance to do so ... Unfortunately I had a strange engine problem at the end of the second lap at Galgenkopf with already more than 15s lead, drastic power loss without any apparent reason. Unfortunately, GPL does not comment on this. At approx. 80ºC oil temperature, approx. 90ºC water temperature with 9500 RPM, the RPMs dropped back to max. 7000 RPM without over-revving That's it ... Of course I am very disappointed, I have to have a crisis meeting with my engine specialists. I'm looking forward to Silverstone – the home of british Motorracing

This is not my favourite track but I had a good run yesterday. Qualifying 9th was about what I expected but then I made my usual slow start and lost two or three places before the first bend. Then my monitor decided to go black. Aaaaargh! I've recently installed Linux Zorin but had forgotten to turn off the screensaver. This caused a bit of a bump (hope I didn't hit anyone) and placed me at the very back of the pack. I then had to shake my mouse every lap in order to stop it going dark again. Just one more thing to think about. Still, I had good pace, a good setup and a 'drive it like I stole it' mindset. So, P6 was a great result. I had a good battle with Bob, Fulvio and nearly caught Phil on the very last lap. 1 more lap and I reckon P4 was in the bag. Still, a lot of fun and I can whole-heartedly say that this place is much more fun with wings. For reference, I had Front 6.75 and rear 10.75 in the Matra MS84 which made the whole experience very enjoyable. Ride height of 4.5 inches helped over the bumps. 8:04 is a PB so I'm very happy to be back on track.

Yeah on L2 wobbled onto the grass and ripped two wheelz off on a surprisingly sturdy sign! I took the BRM to manage my spend, used the defaullt setup, which had max rear wing (surprised to hear you ran no wing Phil), but it didn't feel happy, should have spent longer experimenting! Thanks orga team, Bob

I didn't. I was thinking of taking the Lotus 49 to save a few tokens. If I had, I'd have opted for zero wings. In the end, I took the BRM and had 10⁰ Front and 15⁰ Rear.

I took the MS84 as I could not stand the ugly noise this BRM produces - with less power... 10°/8° wings

I agree, the BRM has a very ugly noise. It should be possible to replace it by another. My favorite carsound for 69X is the Cooper.
