So, I need help again... sorry, but I am determined to get a working server, one way or another.
Dave Curtis has been a great help, and others previously
I am writing this on my dual boot into Mint20. I thought I would try to get things working on this
machine, being as it now runs GPL, under Win10 with no issues (that I am aware of)
1: So? lets install wine, which I have done on a Mint21 VM, using the WineHQ page, and following the steps listed there
I tried on this for Mint20, and MInt21 just in case:
matt@matt-System-Product-Name:~$ sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
matt@matt-System-Product-Name:~$ sudo mkdir -pm755 /etc/apt/keyrings
matt@matt-System-Product-Name:~$ sudo wget -O /etc/apt/keyrings/winehq-archive.key

Good start.
... done this a couple of times before no prob. Not too bothered about that, as my player is not going to be a server
just thought It would make a good test.
2: My Mint21 VM has wine9 and winetricks, it has a C:\ and a Z:\ I can launch GEM+ and IGOR
it has progfiles and prog filesx86
the only option for graphics that it accepts is software. OpenGL works on the WIn10 VM server, but not on the Minty one
I get errors I've posted before saying it can't find OpenGL :
https://phspok182510top.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/Racevirt/Screenshot+from+2024-02-05+20-17-04.pngIGOR things it is running, and you can join it as far as the network screen, but the GPL graphic sits there with a black screen and the hour glass for ever.
3: Wrong post, but I'm on a roll:
The WIn10 VM can run a standard GPL server fine, we have tested it (Dave Curtis an Mr Hawk)
but with mods (tested with 55 and 67F2 ) it starts loading tracks (I've tried with Sierra and mod ones) and then drops back to IGOR
or back to GEM if I try to run GPL from the bottom right green box.
I may need to shrink these pics perhaps....
ANything above sound familiar to anyone?
