Doesn't that usually mean that the 60fps patch isn't running?

I think you may be correct but I have 60fps v2newmod  running and its AOK with other tracks .

Edit to add , maybe I don't have the car set active as I don't normally run 68 mod

Not the car set .

Wonder if the track is correct , I have Surfers 68 but there are two Surfers .  Should it be the earlier track ?

This is the 1968 Late carset (so you should have 1968-2 subfolder under your \gpl\cars\ folder &  should also have the 68GPL-LATE (1968 F1) carset enabled within GEM+)

I only added this to UKGPL11 earlier today for some testing - but of course, this is not the actual race server Smiley
However, I was able to connect in there earlier and I've seen other drivers in there during the course of the afternoon.

Just seen your later:

UKGPL11 is running surferpa   (I already had this / used before & when I checked The FASTLANE download server - the other track "austral" was listed as BETA).

However, as previously mentioned - this is not the race server / recommend you test with UKGPL_4 when it becomes available to be sure Smiley

I'm sure Dave's server is setup as per the race announcement but to be absolutely sure I've setup UKGPL_04 in practice mode (30 min qually, 2 lap race, Ferrari 312 only).

Phil , same result on UKGPL4 says not qualified  Roll Eyes

Dave , I have 1968-2 folder and can race ok with the 312 offline on the surfers track !

Can change the wings angle so gotta be the right car set shirley ?

UKGPL 11 & 4 gives the same result , so will rule out my having the wrong track installed ?

Not qualified usually means you have the wrong 60fps patch enabled.

That was a very competitive race, the lead bunch were circulating in close order for the entire race. I had an epic battle with Clive Loynes, he was making tiny mistakes but not enough to present me with a passing opportunity. When I thought I had a chance at the last but one corner, it wasn't to be and I spun out losing a place to Tom (I'm not sure if I made contact Clive, if so, sorry about that). I fought back and got on Tom's gearbox just as Clive was trying lap Bernie. They tangled which allowed me and Tom to squeeze by and start to hunt down Evil. I couldn't get past Tom and Evil managed to stay ahead but it was a close finish. I think Evil was low on fuel, so another lap and he would have been in trouble.

Judging by the way that Mr Bot came past me on the straight, I guess that I shouldn't have maxed out both wings?

Judging by the way that Mr Bot came past me on the straight, I guess that I shouldn't have maxed out both wings?

I suspect that you were seduced by all that lovely traction Clive  shifty, only to discover that too much wing sacrifices top speed. I find that it is all a question of balance and driving style and I like to start off any setup building with almost zero wing and get the mechanical grip/handling to where I want it. Then I can add wing front or rear to amplify/balance the handling.
I did notice during last night's race that you and I were faster/slower at different points, but especially out of the last corner and onto the straight where initially you closed the gap, then lost it as we hit our top speeds, then caught me again through T1. All Adrian Newey's fault!!.
FWIW I was running 7.5 front and 11 rear. Although we were all running the same car, I am guessing that there were 19 different setups and gear ratios in use throughout the field.

Great fun series Bill  thumbup1

Some really great racing last night and grats to Pete for a consistent drive to take the win. I might have been able to give you more problems, but at around half distance I realised my fuel was marginal, so I had to short shift for the rest of the race. The last few laps were really stressful as Tom was towing Phil closer and closer and I did not dare to try and up my pace. I crossed the line with 0.1 litres left  sweatdrop sweatdrop
