Sorry I just realized that the start time is a little later. Probably because we haven't changed our clocks yet in the US. I am taking the kids out for Halloween soon.

Wait, I just saw the race server. nevermind my comment.  **update: practice race

My wife let me know that I ran out of time today. So I went full throttle into turn 8 for my retirement.

That was a lot of fun. Thanks for the race. Sorry that I had to cut out early.

Shoulda stuck to alcohol :-)

What happened on Lap 1 - everyone went crazy out of T6 and then slammed the bakes on at T7... I tapped someone in front of me when I had to slam on the brakes, but got wiped out by whomever was behind me. It was supposed to be a rolling start until T8... That happened at F1 Portimao a couple of seasons ago, and caused chaos. Also happened at British Superbikes at Oulton Park a few weeks ago...

Unlucky Doni. I was struggling to stay with you never mind find a way past.

I think I was dropped from the server. Chat packed up before the race, I couldn't answer Pete's question about my Lola. Yes I was in a 222. I think I finished 5th, behind Evil and ahead of Arf. I'll have to check the server replay. Grats to Greg, back where you belong, on top of the podium Grin  I was pleased to hold off Arf, his car was very quick on the back straight Shocked but not as nimble on the twisty bits  Smiley

Arf - sorry. That was me.

I ballsed up the start as I forgot about rolling so I managed to lose two or three places within the 1st 100 yds. I then thought "damn! rolling start" but realised that I had NO IDEA where the 'rolling' line was. The cars in front seemed to zoom off so I floored it but straight into the back of you. As a self-penalising measure I waited until I was firmly at the back of the pack. Sorry if I wrecked it for you. Moderators - please penalise me as you see fit.

CHAT - yes, mine packed up too so couldn't even see my question to Phil. Strange GPL behavior. If it had worked, I may have read Cookie shouting ROLLING

Congrats on the Hat-trick Greg! Congrats on the podium finish Axel!

Sorry Clive for my lousy drive entering turn 2 which caused you to take evasive action to not run over me. I made all the mistakes you can all at once, heavy fuel, cold tyres, and looking in the mirror.

I think I needed a couple more clicks on 4th to take advantage of the slipstream. As it was I could only hold my ground and not make up any time.

Thanks for the race all!

Grats to the podium guys and commiserations to Enrique for dropping out with 2 laps to go.

Well Tom, that incident into T2 certainly raised the adrenaline levels and I missed you by the smallest of margins lol!

The excursion dropped me back down the field and the rest of the race was a vain attempt to chase down the leading pack. The Shadow has tremendous speed on the straight and was a dream through the complex after T2 ( provided that there was no other traffic  Roll Eyes ) Roll Eyes That speed through there was actually a curse when catching slower cars as the Shadow was absolutely nailed down under power, but things got a bit squeaky in the trousers if I had to lift  scared scared

One solid clip of the barriers out of the final turn compromised the handling for the last few laps and a couple of spins scuppered any chance of hunting down Axel, so I cruised in for a lucky 4th.

I was so glad that just before going to the grid I added an extrab 2 galls of fuel...............I finished with 0.5 galls in the tank!!!  It was noticeable that pushing the Shadow at 100% drank way more gas than driving at a consistent 95%-98%, very interesting and maybe why EF ran dry?

It looks like I might have got the rolling start wrong?

I thought I knew where T8 was and when Greg and co upped the pace at that very point I just nailed the gas.  Undecided. If I did transgress then apologies, and I expect a DQ.

EDIT
Just looked at the track map. I must learn to count, or check the available info  wacko

Good afternoon and sorry for writing so late, many problems with my family, I have moved away from the chat a little.
As evil says, 2 laps to go, I ran out of gas, in a comfortable and nice 3rd place, I was very happy even though Axel was close, I was able to keep him at a safe distance, to keep that podium, but...... hang .. I never paid attention to the number of turns because my brain came with the number 25 and I put the gas on, for 25 turns........... wheelchair....
And even worse, I forgot that we could do shift R once and I didn't do it either, maybe I could have gotten 4,.....   death but anyway. I had a lot of fun, it was very, very entertaining, thank you guys and congratulations to the podium.
evil....I think you took the wrong turn at the rolling start, and you passed me at the end of turn 7???...... blink
