Season 44 - 1955GP (Privateers) – Round 1 – AssenThe first race in the 1955 Grand Prix series finds us at Assen in the Netherlands. Assen has a long history of motor racing. The first event, a motorcycle race, was held in 1925 on country roads through the villages of Rolde, Borger, Schoonloo and Grolloo. Between 1926 and 1954, the Dutch TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle race, was held on the Van Drenthe circuit. This was a 10.27 miles street circuit through De Haar, Barteldsbocht, Oude Tol, Hooghalen, Laaghalen and Laaghalerveen. In 1955 a new purpose built track was inaugurated which was shorter than the original but at 6.049 miles it was still a long track by modern standards. Over the years the track has been through numerous modifications which have changed its length each time. The 1967 version we are using tonight is 4.8 miles long. Although more famous for motorcycle racing, the track has been used for car racing (BOSS GP, Champ Car, DTM and several junior classes) but never for Formula 1. Morning all
I am on my old machine for this event, and I have the resolution and frame rate fine, thanks for the assistance
But, I can't get pribluda to work. It works on my other machine, also a WIN10 install And there seems to be pribluda files in place where they should be. I tried to reinstall it from a D/L and it say it can't install on this vervion of windows, please get a version that can (something like that)
It's the same WIn10 install on both machines... what am I missing?

You can just copy+paste the complete GPL folder from one pc to another! Only GEM-installer makes registry settings

I was ready to race and then we had a family emergency. I really like this track. Sorry to miss out
I'm back home now. A family member borrowed my car and then someone rear ended the car. Not really an emergency. The bumber is pushed in a little. Everything will be ok.

Matt, A quick note to bring your attention to the rules about changing cars once you have joined the server. See here. Essentially swapping cars is not allowed. It is a long standing rule that originates back when we had 56k modems on VROC but we've stuck with it. It might not be such a problem with modern broadband connections but we've never felt the need to change the rule.

My race almost came to an end when my ex team mate got a bit over enthusiastic and rear ended me . I had a great race with Paul V but it was marred by my clobbering Dave R after re joining from the Francsco smash . Apart from that I found the Conny a nice ride . Looking forward to Brands

Was a good race for me overall. was not expecting to to do well at all but got a good start and to a reasonable run. Was going far better than I could ever have hoped and was running second for quite a few laps. I had absolutely no chance at all of closing the gap to Moses who was far away in the distance. But I lost a bit of concentraction while running solo in second and as usual the tyres and brakes were getting a bit ragged, so had spin. could not afford go crazy for a rejoin and took a while to get off the hay bale. got passed by 2 cars and was back down to 4th. OOOPPPsss Had some great laps with Billy towards the end of the race and we seemed very close and it was good racing . I wasnt fast enough to get past easy so just tried to keep the pressure on and enjoy the racing... again I had a spin behind Billy and then decided to just bring the car home for a very happy 3rd place. I since have realised that I crossed the line on the same lap as Billy and Moses, but saw all the flags waving and assumed race was over so pulled over and stopped, luckily I wasn't demoted to 4th.. was a nice steady drive from Cubby too.. all in all a good race as I dont really like Assen that much. very technical and not the easiest place to race as far as im concerned

Not a good race for me. On the 1st lap, after only 2 turns, I was taken off the track by Ricardo Silva. I saw him coming very quick so I took the turn very wide but it was not enough and the sliding Gordini made contact to my right front wheel. On lap 3, another contact side by side with Bernie after he rejoined the track from the grass. It sent me on the wall ... Finally on lap8, my engine said "that's enough for me".
At least, it was after mid race so I could gain some points for ze championship !
ah, I couldn't find the meaning of "clobbering" on the translator ... but now I'm going to add Bernie to the list of drivers to watch carefully when closely racing.

Sorry Dave , I had just recovered from being properly clobbered by francesco , In fact it was a great impression of Eddy the Eagle . After I landed I had a glimpse of what I thought was fran in my mirror ( same car & colour ? ) who I thought was also re joining , not realising it was you arriving on the scene at racing speed . I was glad you were able to carry on undamaged .
Yes Clobbering ( to clobber someone ) is a good northern english expression , a derivation of the word Clout or to "hit someone hard "
