Each year we try to make this series a little bit different and hopefully more entertaining than normal League racing, so this year you have the ....

Gentleman's British Grand Touring Cup

Normally in any League race we use the maximum powered option for whatever mod we are racing. This ignores the 2 slower classes available with every carset, that is the Novice Trainer or the Advanced Trainer cars. So we are going to use these options to give us some cars that gentlemen racers might use, as opposed to a full Works car.

The races will all use the 1966 Can Am cars, but without the monster Yank V8's, instead we will have the much more civilised Rover V8 (under "Advanced Trainer").

All drivers will have a free choice of car as basically ALL cars will have the same power, but Pro drivers will have to take one StopnGo just to even things up a little. The SnG can be taken on any lap except the first lap or the last lap.

The first race will be at Goodwood (1965).

Unlimited number of Shift-Rs are allowed with no need to make Stop & Go.

Race list = iGOR
Server =   UKGPL_11
IP Address =   217.155.118.42
GPL Mod = 1966 Can Am Advanced Trainer option
Date = 07 April 2024
Damage model = Intermediate
Chassis = Free Choice
Track directory = goodwd65
Qualifying starts = 20:45 UK time - 45 minutes
Race starts = ~ 21:30 UK time
Race length = 25 laps
[/quote]

PLEASE CAN YOU POST HERE IF YOU INTEND TO TAKE PART IN THESE RACES. ALL MEMBERS WHO HAVE REGISTERED HERE WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY ON THE SERVER. ANY DRIVERS WHO ARRIVE ON RACE NIGHT WITHOUT A PRIOR REGISTRATION WILL BE EXPECTED TO WAIT INTIL 15 mins  OF QUALLY HAS PASSED BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO JOIN.
IF IT TRANSPIRES THAT WE HAVE 30+ DRIVERS REGISTERED WE MIGHT, JUST MIGHT, RUN A SECOND SERVER.

I've set UKGPL11 running with Goodwd65 & Boreham for some CANAM66/Advanced Trainer testing.
Please advise if there are any issues.

With my ancient machine, I did have low FPS on the last section from Woodcote to the chicane.  However, using a trick which seemed to help a bit for me at Bulawayo recently, I adjusted my mirror details view from "full" to "cars & track".
Additionally for good measure - also removed "object textures" from M/mirror view too.  Seems much happier there now (with an empty track).

So IF anyone else also has similar drastic FPS drops in that section, maybe try similar...

I haven't noticed any low frame rate with my usual machine.
Maybe with my second rig. I usually turn off some graphic options with that one.

I love Goodwood, this version is more challenging than ones I am used to
I have done it for real a few years ago. I did  a sprint for Classic Marques
there. Absolutely loved it  thumbup1 it is very fast and I got lost at "no name"
not a bad effort, and I would love to go again, but it's a longggggg way for me

It would be good if all those drivers planning to race in these two events could let us know, so that we can be sure of numbers and servers if there are more than 19.

Dimitar Dulchiki

Wow, I didn't realise that the track still existed in exactly the same way. I always thought it was just the straight that was used at the Festival of Speed.
Nice lap, by the way.
I'll try to be at the start.

The Festival of Speed is at the main house rather than the airfield where the track is
I went to the FOS once and was dissapointed as I thought we were going to the racetrack  Sad

As a bit of extra interest/horror That vid of mine was the 1st, and only run of the day, because, as I was going onto
Lavant "Straight" for the 2nd run, my fellow competitor Tim Simpson, in his supercharged S2000, had a piece of rear brake disk break off,
locking a rear wheel as he was braking for Woodcote, Watch to the end..... when he goes "Oh" as his car is written off, is classic  Shocked
