For those who will be missing some sim-racing action.
3 short races around Aintree with the 1966 GP cars...but with a small twist.
Race 1 will be free choice of any car. All podium finishers in race 1 will be restricted to a choice of either Lotus 33 Climax or the Eagle for the next 2 races.
All podium finishers in Race 2 will also have to take the Lotus 33 Climax or the Eagle for Race 3.

Server = TBA

GPL Mod = 1966 GP
Date = 31 March 2024
Damage model = Intermediate
Chassis = Free Choice all 2ltr and 3ltr cars

Qualifying starts = 20:45 UK time - 20 minutes
Race starts = ~ 21:05 UK time
Race length = 10 laps
Race 2

Although this is probably mentioned a couple of times each year...  UK clocks change overnight tonight, moving forward 1 hour. (Last Sunday in March & October). |

The last time I raced here I had CTD when I span at final corner. I might tweak FB distances before the race.

Love Aintree , its just up the road from me . Haven't raced 66 mod much and would deff be a mobile chicane here , might try Qually and see how it goes  |

Love Aintree , its just up the road from me . Haven't raced 66 mod much and would deff be a mobile chicane here , might try Qually and see how it goes Practice server is up on iGOR Bernie. These are short races so you shouldn't get lapped if you can manage to lap in under 1min 55sec. |

thats a shame Albert.
Did you use the correct car ? I only ask as everytime I connected to the server from Igor, It showed me about to join in the Ferrari 312.. but I had the Brabham showing in Gem as I had been using it to practice offline.
was odd. dont think ive seen that before

Did you have the 60fps patch selected? You need to select it for each mod in the GEM options. |

I quite enjoyed that, it was a bit hectic but it was nice to have a second (and third) chance if the first race was a disaster. I had great battles with several drivers, notably Pete. The last race was looking like a repeat of the first two, when I managed to get up to P2 behind Pete at the end of lap 1. But as we approached the line my engine exploded. I had to wait for almost the whole field to pass before I could reset. I got going again but then promptly spun on cold tyres in front of Clive. Thankfully he missed me. It was hard work trying to catch up but I was gifted a couple of places when Cookie and Doni collided ahead of me.
I appreciate the qually time was a bit short (7 mins). I'll set it for 10 mins next time.
