I thought I'd post a sticky here with any important things you need to know as you migrate over from the old YahooGroups to the SRou forums. Please feel free to post any questions here.

This process can also be used for any drivers who take part in a UKGPL Inter-league race and subsequently register on the forums here.

Drivers

Drivers who've raced in both UKGPL and SRou will have a shared racing history once their historic identity is matched up with their new forum identity. For those of us who've raced in both SRou and UKGPL from the early days, that could be quite a long history!
wheelchair

However, I need your help to do this successfully. In order to reclaim your data, please visit your Driver Details page, find yourself in the list next to the "Historic identity" label, and hit the Update button. (Check your GPLRank whilst you're there if you have one!)

I will review the information supplied regularly and process the historic data in order to link the histories up correctly.

Teams

Unlike the old system, team management in SRou is entirely self-service. If your team is new to SRou, please create it by going to this page. There is a link to a 'help' topic there - it's not a pretty page but it does the job. When the data migration has progressed a little further, I will start to link the existing UKGPL team histories to their SRou equivalents.

I've now updated the first post with information on how to link your UKGPL racing history up to your new SRou forum identity. I've used myself, Shark and Picnic as test subjects so all three of us now have long racing histories across both communities. Smiley

The mechanism for linking teams with their historic data is also in place but I haven't yet decided how to trigger that process. A few teams already have shared histories, which can be found via the 'Teams' button at the top of the page.

Brendan Wright becomes the first 'real' driver to have their history migrated. Well done. Grin

Ken Murray and Ian Bassi have followed suit. Where are the rest of you? Don't you want to see your career histories? Huh

All you've got to do is follow the link in the PM the system sent you. I can see the invitation sitting there waiting for you...

Dave, just scanning through my UKGPL career I noticed a race has been repeated.  It appears once correctly as S13Dm Zeltweg on Dec 10th 2006. But it is repeated as a non-Championship race with the same date. The results are identical. My total race count shows 94 and this extra one seems to be included in that total so really I've only done 93. Just want to clear this up with my Centenary not far away!!!

Wow, I find it hard to believe I've raced in 60 UKGPL races. At least it my only win in gold  Grin

Why does my name in the race reports show trobey instead of Tim Robey?

Also some of the races in S8 were really part of a pre-season British circuits series.

Point of order; the name shown is the display name, not the login name (which can be different, eg. mine's gizmo71).

Ken, I have made a note of your rogue race and will get round to looking at that this weekend. Wink

If you can tell me which races I can move them - the old web site just had "Brit Fun 2004 - organizer Paul Skingely", no more details.

I've looked at the races on https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=4238.0 and I'm pretty certain the races between March 14 - April 5 2004 were part of the Brit Fun Races.

There was an Isle of Man race on April 11, I'm not sure if that was part of this series.

Tim

PS Thanks Dave, I think I've sorted out my display name.

I can't seem to link my racing history from when i was in UKGPL from ~2003-2005. I can see my name on the old website archive, but on the new site my name (Andrew_Hodgson) for historic races is replaced with "zak" who is nothing to do with me? Seems something got muddled in the porting process?

Any idea how I can sort this out?

Thanks

Andrew
