March 30 seems a while away, any chance of a pre-season Clubman’s race- even an ‘unofficial’ one using a public server?
Hello Jack. I will try and host a non-championship event a week prior to the main event. I guess there will be a poll at the forum with regard to the track.
I’m not sold on ‘fantasy’ tracks but it seems that Lime Rock has a basis in reality. It seems a shame that it was never constructed, though it might not have been as suitable for conversion to modern F1 as Watkins Glen. I suppose the current fad for improbable street circuits means that a return to the Glen is less likely.
Lime Rock we are racing on is a real track and it proved quite well in Season 15 - you probably referred to Lime Rock Park Mountain which is a fantasy track.
Is Clubman’s no longer an introductory league? Oulton is quite tricky compared to Snetterton and Albi, and I’m surprised that both Monaco and the Nurburgring are included in the schedule. On the other hand I’ll be pleased if Monza remains the choice for the last race. It seems odd to encourage closer racing with handicaps then have several tracks where passing is difficult…? Still, I suppose I can’t both express a preference for the historic tracks and hope to dodge Monaco and the Ring!
To respond to Glen question and to answer this last bit - We rotate Papy tracks and Add on tracks that are good and stable for online racing; sorry you've missed Watkins Glen as we had it in seasons 11, 12 and 13. It will come back and it will stay for a couple of seasons just like all other Papy tracks. Out of the add on tracks that are in turn now, Oulton and Lime Rock are best suitable for Clubman Cup.
You never know how it goes, usually people who complain about certain tracks do rather well on them
