It wasn't that I missed the Glen in Clubman's! Since the vogue is for a race around FIA headquarters, and night racing in Asia, it seemed less likely to me that modern F1 will return to its once-established American home at the Glen.
Is there a guide to which add-on tracks are considered stable enough to roster? Montjuic doesn't seem to have appeared much, though that might be because of the detail. It's difficult to crash at East London yet I've rarely seen that. The Adelaide 67 version looks good even if it is- like Lime Rock- slightly dubious. Hockenheim might be dull and Jarama technical but they are both historical, as are Clermont and Bugatti. Sandown '68 and Vallelunga have merit, and while Imola wasn't an F1 track the layout without chicanes must have some attraction?

Hi Guys,
I'm new here and would like to join the clubmans cup if possible.
I am very new to GPL, having had the game for years, tried it a few times (offline) and found it a bit hard so left it collecting dust on the shelf for ages, picking it up again around 3 months ago. Then I found the online community for it while looking for any mods. I drive with ADC just now but want more online practice and races as it is the best way to improve and get help rather than chasing AI around.
As I say I am very new and not very fast at all so I don't mind if you say to stick to pickup races for a while yet while I build experience. Anyway, let me know.
Hope this was the right place to post.
Regards,
Steve b_1_rd

Hi Steve Clubman's is the place to start . Have you got a GPL rank? If not go here to get one (you'll need to create an account there). Then add your GPL rank to your driver profile here on SRou. I'll try and organize a warm up race or two for the clubmans before Season 15 starts and we'll see how you go. Please fill in the registration poll above. Cheers Phil

Hi Phil, thanks for your speedy reply. I have got a GPLRank of +224.255 (eeak, spot the newbie) which isn't really a true one as some of the tracks I only drove a few laps just to put a time in. Also that's a GPL66Rank. I don't have an original 67 rank yet, have been concentrating on the 66 stuff in ADC so was trying to get up to some sort of speed with those. Hope that's ok.
Poll filled as requested.
Cheers
Steve

The 67s are somewhat different to the 66s. I'd recommend getting some practice in with the Cooper. It's the best 67 chassis to learn in IMO. Just use the default setup and change the fuel load as appropriate. The standard setups are quite forgiving. When you get better there are lots of setups available from faster more experienced drivers but these setups generally make the car harder to control so you'd best leave them alone for now. Don't worry about getting a GPL rank in all chassis. Pick one and practice with it to get decent lap times. You can always compare your times with those from previous Clubmans races. In fact I'd recommend you do a full race distance and compare your race time with those in the clubmans results for Season 14. That way you'll be able to estimate where you would have finished .

Team Superswede issued the following press release from Jens Stenang - Team Principal, today - 'It has come to our attention that there have been rumours in certain quarters as to the viability of our team. We would like to state, quite categorically, that the team is here for the long haul and very much looking forward to the forthcoming campaign. The team transporter is currently undergoing a refit and spruce up in preparation for the season. Team progress/information can be found at http://www.teamsuperswede.se '

Just had a call from Graham Poole who says that he has registered 100% for Clubman's but can't see his name on the list.

He has not voted in any poll, Clubmans or otherwise.

Thanks Dave. He obviously just thinks that he has. Us oldies do get confused at times. Well, most of the time actually.

Methinks something strange is afoot.
I popped down to Team Superswede HQ for a little light exercise, followed by a sauna (ok I have a few pounds to shed). I must have been in more need of the exercise than I realised, as the heat of the sauna got to me and I settled in for a nice little snooze. When I awoke, the building had been emptied! No desks, no calendars, no spanners and NO CARS! Home and a set of clothes, then off to Jens Business HQ...that's empty as well...his phone is disconnected. Appears his yacht left port 2 days ago with person(s) unspecified for destination unknown.
