The UKGPL/GBGPL Challenge Recruitment Centre.

Ok, as I have been"volunteered"    as your Team Captain for ( at least) the first ever race between these leagues, can I have some mugs volunteers who wish to take part.

The format is not completley agreed as yet, but it looks like we will each have :

As broad a spread of ability as is practical...so we need names from Clubman's to Master's

A team of 9 drivers
Pro rules
Race length approx 50mins
No pit stops
Circuit will probably be a papy original for this one off race

Chassis allocation will be
2 BRM
2 Honda
1 Cooper
1 Ferrari
1 Eagle
1 Brabham
1 Lotus

Cars must be filled from the top of the list to encourage "full" teams, so a team with only 8 drivers would mean the Lotus could not be used. SO WE NEED DRIVERS!!!

If there is overwhelming interest from both camps a second race may be run to give all a chance to participate

Car allocation would be by agreement with Team Captain ( that's me...ooooh! the power!!).

This is a "try out" race with the possibility of an ongoing challenge series if interest and time permit.

So far there is no offer of prize money or trophies, so its just for your ego!!!

I have had a sneaky look at the GBGPL forum and they are ressurecting aliens from cryogenic storage to augment their team!!

C'mon we need some serious numbers of volunteers...there could be blood spilt here...and it might be green!!

So I guess the next things to agree on are Circuit and Date?
How about if you guys post your circuit preferences and we will see if anything coincides with GBGPL's wish list ?
For this event we are sticking to the original Papy tracks.

As for an evening ?

Sundays...UKGPL league night
Mondays....GBGPL league night
Tuesdays.....Alternate Tuesdays are UKGPL 66 league races or the new 65 novice race series, but there may be a space here.
Wednesdays.......available
Thursdays......GBGPL  League races
Friday.........available
Saturday......some are available some Groundhog or Pre-war races I think for GBGPL

Hmmmm a pretty full schedule, but as this is a one off ( at the moment ) can we post here what preferences each has?

We will begin the squabble over who drives which car when everyone who wishes to take part has posted ( just hope we get 9 !!! )

If we dont get more volunteers and we are desperate I may have to drive myself !!, so .........
