I know running GEM changes the executables (including the graphics settings).  Running GPL in VROC mode will change the .exe according to the settings in GEM.  But I don't know what IGOR does if anything.  I'll do some investigating.

Where is your server Pete? Is it one you have at home or is it one you rent from a server provider?

With eighteen cars on the grid there remains the possibility of having a red flag car should there be a pile-up early on, as Bernie suggested in the Historics Monza thread.  However, the use of a far more extended grid than usual might solve a problem before we have one?  There will be warp with a full grid.....

What to do about subsequent qualifying would be the problem, but it's one we could try to solve rather than risk the race.  Repeat once?

The GBGPL/UKGPL Challenge race is almost upon us and we nearly have a confirmed team.

The race will be at Sliverstone on the evening of July1st start at 8pm UK local time.

Hi Phil, the server is rented from Jolt,  i think you are on the right track there  i tried to Igor once before and had this problem , but i cant find the e-mail with the answer, and cant remember what i did , what you describe sounds like it .

I will check my .exe on my pc against the server one .

Hi guys I finish work at 8pm on tuesday, so it might be bit tight, i ask manager if i can go in 1hr earlier to finish an hour earlier intime for a race although i wont say its a race lol.

The race will be held on the GBGPL server on VROC ( probably the Groundhog ) starting at 8 p.m.

I will have to check that Magnus can host as mine is still out of commision. Ibelieve he has GPLTV as well i will check that .

It might help to have a later start if possible... it seems odd to have it at 20:00 BST on a weekday, or are we just meeting earlier, to get organised?

G.Groundhog will be the server used, it does not have GPLTV unless we get it installed today, unlikely knowing Jolt  .

Its looks like i may have 7 or 8 in our team at this time but i know of one who may just turn up and he is unlikely to let me know lol.

My home connection to this Forum is currently not working. Therefore I am posting this from my work computer.

If you have any comments or messages please try and post BEFORE 4:30 today or wait until 8:00pm in the GBGPL chat.


The plan is to meet in the GBGPL chatroom for 8pm. password for this chatroom is    "novice".
Practice will be 30 mins so race should start at around 8:30pm UK time.
Race will be approx 50 mins long Pro Rules  so don't try and win the race on the first lap  and make sure you put enough fuel in for race!!!!


I will ask Pete to confirm the server password etc when we are in chat.

This is earlier than usual for UKGPL but normal time for  GBGPL races so someone was going to be out of sync.
If some of you guys are a little late getting there, no prob as long as you can be on the grid for 8:30. After all it is Silvy which you all know and a long race to make up places.

Can we all arrange to have dark green helmets, just so you know who is on your side before you ram them from behind  .

I should be in the GBGPL chatroom to "welcome"  you all.

I am trying to keep myself out of the list for this one , but will be a last resort reserve if required. So someone might get promoted to the Lotus at the last minute, cos I can't drive that ruddy thing
