Since we've got a spare Sunday night without anything organised, how about two or three int short races on one of the more common tracks?  We could have extended practice sessions to allow established drivers to test and new drivers to familiarise.

Meet on Igor, from about 8.00 on.  Any takers?  What track would be best?

How about Kyalami, since it was the 'test' race before the European season started?

20:00 BST 40 mins practice, int short races?

I won't be making an official race announcement, since there won't be any results to post from these races.

Don't let Kyalami get you down.  It is a very "technical" track and one of the most difficult at which to beat the benchmark.  I understand that those people inclined to have a totally negative monster rank often end up with just the Cooper at Spa or the BRM at Kyalami to crack.

To help the noobs, I have posted Dave Wilkinson's laps and setups here:
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=326053
I think that these are 85/45 or generally of that ilk.

If you use nothing else, use the gear ratios and look at his laps to see which ones he uses where.

Good Luck

Put me down as a maybe!  I'm at Castle Combe all weekend but should be back by that time, unless the rain hasn't stopped and we are busy building a raft to make it back  Roll Eyes

Any track, not bothered.  I need as much practice at Kyalami as anywhere else. Smiley

It's not often that UKGPL have informal race meets- please don't be concerned about not feeling good enough in the 67s as this isn't a competitive event, and may be one of the few chances to get help on track.  It seems that there should be a few of us both racing and in chat to help with setups and advice.

You may have to dodge fans trying to get the first glimpse of what Burt is up to this season, but that's all part of the atmosphere.

Good fun last night. I took the opportunity to try a couple of different cars. I used to drive the Eagle all the time so that was like slipping into an old girlfriend  Shocked . Also tried the Cooper, which went round the corners like a dream after a couple of camber tweaks. The Honda was a bit of a handful.

Are we free to choose our car for the regular season, or are there restrictions?

I suggest you have a look at one of the previous league race announcements, which shows how car allocation works. You can always take a faster car as long as you accept the pit stop handicap that goes with it.

In theory ( ahem!! cough) the handicap system and pitstops means that everyone crosses the finish line together...however this is not always the case  Roll Eyes

Any chance of kicking the iGOR server over to 65 Mex so that I can give Happyal some one-to-one tuition?
