I put less than 50% but that really depends when I decide to buy a new wheel.

Why not go 66 for Div 1? If only for a 1 season experiment. Currently we only have allocated chassis racing in the Historic cup. I'd like some 66 racing with free chassis choice.

As you know, we currently have 3 ways of "handicapping" drivers in UKGPL. The first is to use pitstops as in Div 1, the second is chassis allocation based on position with optional chassis choice and associated pit stop (as in Clubmans now and Masters as was) and the third being chassis allocation by the moderator. It is the divisional mods choice what system they want to run because they are doing all the work. Syd prefers the third method (but he doesn't have much choice because I haven't updated the pit stop calculator for 66 mod cars yet, but I intend to sort that). By free choice I assume you mean you'd prefer the Div 1 or Masters handicapping systems. Do you have a preference?

The Div 1 pitstops DO NOT handicap the driver, they handicap the car. If Hristo or Lorenzo take the slowest car they still have as much chance of winning as if they take the fastest car because the pit stop is much less or there is no stop at all. So we have two Divisions where drivers are handicapped and one where they aren't. I do agree that the lack of data for the 66 cars would make calculating pit stop times difficult though.

Yes you're right Ken. I should have simply said "handicapping" rather than "handicapping drivers". Since you have a good understanding of the implications of both approaches, which do you prefer; Div 1 or Masters format?

Since you have a good understanding of the implications of both approaches, which do you prefer; Div 1 or Masters format? Both actually. Div 1 is good for being a level playing field and providing an opportunity to drive any car you like and have a fairly even chance of doing well. Notwithstanding the continual debate regarding the slight advantage towards the slower cars. I find the Masters handicapping good for keeping the Championship alive, normally right to the bitter end. It makes it easier to catch up if you miss a few rounds and drop down the table. It does mean it can get a little tactical towards the end though.

I'll put my name down for another season. I dropped the ball badly at the end of the last season (on that subject, are the server replays still alive?) with a folder called 'iRacing' appearing in my games folder - not sure how that got there I went to play GPL the other day and I was chronically bad Can't let that happen! If there is room I'd like to race, but only in div 1 as I think last season I was racing in 2 UKGPL races a week some weeks which was getting a bit much
