Welcome Samb

Do you have a GPLRank logon so that I can add you to the League List on GPLRank?

It will allow you to see the lap times that your comepitors are posting.

Also, I would have a read of the recomended driver behaviour as posted here

https://www.ukgpl.com/rec_dvr_beh/rec_driver_beh.htm

Taking particular note of the bits about what track area you cannot see, who could be lurking in it and what to do about it.
It will save you a lot of grief later.   Grin

Welcome Samb.  Oh dear, that means you'll probably be blindingly quick judging by other newcomers to online racing recently  Grin

Any other guys with real world racing experience in UKGPL? I've logged over 10yrs of GP250 bikes.....so no stranger to tracks and associated etiquette.

Geoff, I had about 15 years of racing a variety of bikes from the early 80's to the late 90's. These ranged from Honda RS125's through to Yamaha 1000 Exup but my favourite of all was my trusty TZ350. I still have it lying in my garage and I have resolved to commence a restoration project on it over the winter. I did have a few laps round Croft on a friends Honda RS250 about 5 or 6 years ago and that was an awsome package, so much easier to drive than the TZ. What was your mount? Was it the Honda or Yamaha, or maybe even Aprilia?? Have you retired from the real stuff now or do you still get on track now and again?

Oh I wish!

Used to help a guy out who raced a TZ250.  I've never been out on track though.  One day maybe.

Ken, are you going to race the 350 again?

Ken, are you going to race the 350 again?

Maybe some of the Post Classic/Forgotten Era class races. I haven't actually ridden any kind of bike for about 2 years now so I'll have to have a few test sessions first to see make sure I don't embarass myself!

I have added your GPLRank persona to UKGPL2008.

Do you have the Analyser up and running?  I find it is the easiest way of uploading 65mod times.

He means this Sam: http://gplra.pike.nu/.  It can be a useful tool.  But don't let him bully you, he has a yen for classification.  I suspect he just uses the information to blackmail drivers into joining his Soggy racing team, but no-one has been able to prove anything yet.

No wonder REED RACING don't win anything!!!!!     Tongue

But since YOU mentioned SOGGIES,  Grin you will find a wealth of useful information in the SBRC Racing School.

Hi Ken, a little bird tells me you've done the IOM a few times......? I dips me lid sir Grin
As to the stink wheels, I still own a '79 'F' model 250 a '82 'J' model 250 and a '94 pre-airbox V twin TZ250. All of which I am keeping. I have long ago retired from riding, but until my boys came along I was crewing for various people round the traps. Faster race mechanic/rider liason than rider....lol. In 2000 I did the 250 class and 2001 the 125 class, with Wildcard rides for both in the Philip Island round of the World Champs. Coolest thing I've ever done.....pretty hard to top rubbing shoulders with your heroes in the pits. (Ralf Waldemann, Randy Mamola, Kevin Schwantz, Valentino, Casey Stoner in his first year on 125's......right next door to us in the next pit.....Great stuff). Luckily, i was there for the the last full season of 2 strokes. I don't know what your thoughts on GP racing are, but for me, no matter how fast they go in a straight line......diesel powered computers just don't do it for me. Take the gizmo's of 'em and then we'll see who can really ride 'em..... and bring back the threat of a highside for bad riding......this lowside crap is boring.....lol
Cheers Ken

I selected >50% because no matter how good my intentions, I know I will miss far more races than I would like.
