The Interleague series will replace the Masters series on Sunday night for the fastest UKGPL drivers.  While our drivers will still be able to compete against each other in Division 1, it seemed better to also seek fresh challenges for this season.  Each race will require us to field a nine-car team against nine drivers from another league, a total of eighteen cars on track.   Whether using the original carset or the 66 mod, each team will also be required to field a representative set of chassis- these are the suggested teams:

67s

one Lotus
one Eagle
one Ferrari
one Brabham
one Honda
two Coopers
two BRMs

66s

two Brabhams, one BT19 and one of the BT11 versions
one BRM, driver to choose between P261 and P83
one Cooper
one Eagle, driver to choose between T1F and T1G
one Ferrari, driver to choose between 246 and 312
one Honda
one Lotus, driver to choose between 43 and either of the 33 versions
one McLaren

Further rules will be agreed on a race-by-race basis, but the points for places rules that we used against GBGPL will be a guide.

Once a team captain has been appointed for a race he will select the team and chassis, on the basis that we will field the fastest team that we are able to for all the races- while against GBGPL we had to compromise slightly as it was organised so quickly, all these races have been agreed some time in advance.

Some of the leagues I've been in contact with have taken August off so I'm still waiting for a response.  However these races have been agreed so far:

DATE           DAY       VENUE           MOD         OPPONENTS

Sept 14th      Sunday   Rouen          67            trellnet
Sept 28th     Sunday   Mosport       66mod       ADC
Oct 12th      Sunday   Watkins Glen 66mod       GPLRacer
Oct 26th      Sunday   TBC             66mod       Atlas F1
Nov 9th       Sunday   Zandvoort     67            BREASTS
Nov 23rd     TBA
Dec 7th       Sunday   TBC             TBC          GBGPL

There will also be three further races in 2009.  If you're aware of another league that might want to take up one of the remaining races, pm me and I'll contact them if I haven't already done so.

I like the idea of bringing the GPL Leagues together as I think it will be the only way to keep the numbers up in future. Unfortunately any Team Race format is difficult for me. I can never be 100% sure of attendance, so while this is of no detrement to anyone but myself in a normal League race I would feel upset at letting the team down in this type of event.

Don't worry Ken.
Any team will surely have a couple of subs "on the bench" Wink and likewise any team would be glad of your involvement. So I suspect, Roll Eyes they would be quite happy for you to put your name down as a probable, with maybe the proviso that a sub can take your seat if you have not made it with maybe 10 mins of practice still left?

Someone of you humungous skill and ability  Roll Eyes would be welcome in the UKGPL squad Grin Grin.
