Hi Rik

My core.ini settings are:
Code:
mem_client_send_every = 1               	; Client packet freq via memory
mem_client_send_size = 276              ; Client packet size via memory
mem_server_send_every = 1                ; Server packet freq via memory
mem_server_send_size = 516              ; Server packet size via memory
net_lan_client_send_every = 4            ; Client packet freq on LAN
net_lan_client_send_size = 132          ; Client packet size on LAN
net_lan_server_send_every = 4            ; Server packet freq on LAN
net_lan_server_send_size = 388          ; Server packet size on LAN
net_mdm_client_send_every = 3            ; Client packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_client_send_size = 84            ; Client packet size on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_every = 3            ; Server packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_size = 384  ; show 19 cars  ; Server packet size on dialup
I don't make any changes and I get lots of cars ahead and behind it all depends how the server is set up.

However, we always set up IGOR on 3.ukgpl to override the core.ini settings (see here) so for the Clubmans race you shouldn't have to do anything and you'll see practically half the field.

Things have moved on a lot thanks to most people having broadband connections Cheesy

Ta m8,
I've changed mine to read the same as yours, but...
I have these settings as well...
mem_client_send_every=1                     ; Client packet freq via memory
mem_client_send_size=276                    ; Client packet size via memory
mem_server_send_every=1                     ; Server packet freq via memory
mem_server_send_size=516                    ; Server packet size via memory
net_lan_client_send_every=4                 ; Client packet freq on LAN
net_lan_client_send_size=132                ; Client packet size on LAN
net_lan_server_send_every=4                 ; Server packet freq on LAN
net_lan_server_send_size=388                ; Server packet size on LAN
net_mdm_client_send_every = 3                ; Client packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_client_send_size = 84                ; Client packet size on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_every = 3                 ; Server packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_size = 384  ; show 19 cars   ; Server packet size on dialup
net_server_port=0                             ; Server port number (0 = default)
net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip=1            ; Use modem bandwidthfor TCP/IP - 1 = Use net_mdm_ settings *
;net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip=0            ; Use modem bandwidthfor IPX    - 0 = Use net_lan_ settings

show_meters = 0      ; 0 = Off *  1 = On    Alt-m to toggle

Should I delete the tcp_ip=1 lines?

No.  TCP/IP is needed for the internet connection.

I've just noticed a few guys are on the practice server.  Wouldn't be a bad idea to connect to IGOR and give it a go  Smiley

You can use VROC for chat because the chat is common (shadowworld or something).  But you won't see the server in the list so you'll have to join via IP (using multiplayer window in GPL).  IP is 87.194.135.42.

Server is running if you want to test connection  Wink
