Moderator's Report

A first win for Steve, with a strong consistent drive, and a first podium for Peter as he was at last on the slower grid.

Quite a good performance all round from the Novices, there was some odd driving which seems to be down to PC problems, hope you can fix them soon as there's nothing worse.

Server replay time: 0h12m51s

L4 after Combes

Sam is slow to recover after misjudging the corner but stays well to one side of the track. Al is able to watch him down the straight, but still changes line to rear-end him. I was puzzled, but perhaps this is an instance of a changed perspective when closing rapidly, that lured Al into the wrong move.

I've waived the yellow cards points as I believe that this incident was due to inexperience with GPL's representation of the situation.

Server replay time: 0h16m05s

L4 Source

Graham rear-ends Mike, who braked earlier than he had before.

Server replay time: 0h20m02s

L6 Eau Rouge

Sam leads Steve into L'Eau Rouge by about half-a-length. Steve doesn't allow enough room, though there was no effect on Sam from the slight and warp-affected collision.

Server replay time: 0h27m02s

L7 after Blanchimont

Al passes a recovering Maestro and there is side-to-side contact, however with little effect on Maestro. Al should allow more room to other cars in future though!

It's a 78Mb job when extracted so better make some room for it!  Grin

Hi. Thanks for all the advice - there is an underlying heat issue so added extra fans, defragged and given it a general overhaul. Will also be using Clive's suggestion of running EndItAll.
Will be testing it online before the next race - fingers crossed will be ok

If it's a heat issue then I'd also seriously recommend the dusting/airline  Smiley
If it's dusty then you can have all the fans you want but it'll still overheat.

On that note, if it's an older pc then the thermal paste betwixt the cpu and the heat sink may be breaking down. If you can get hold some decent paste then it may be worth taking the cooler off, cleaning the old paste off, and re-applying some new stuff.
If the cpu runs mega hot then this is normally why  Smiley

I had this on an old pc - cpu used to run at 65 degrees C when sat on the BIOS screen, would frequently reach 100 when runnning a virus check which used to trigger the reset - cleaned out and replaced the paste and she now idles in windows at about 40 and has yet to reach 60 even under heavy load  thumbup1

last time I had this problem it turned out that the BIOS had somehow corrupted itself and changed the clock frequency of the cpu.

It had underclocked itself.  I happened to be looking at the screen when it booted up and noticed that the cpu came up as XP1500, or something like, instead of XP3200+

This fault may be unique to me but it's worth having a look.

There's a link to the replays on the ukgpl.com front page.  The Spa 65 replays have been uploaded here: http://replays.cap35.net/sorted/UKGPL%20S16/

Unfortunately though the Amateurs race has been moderated, I can't watch the Novices replay, as it crashes when I change from the server car.  Has anyone else got this problem with the replay?

Also, Phil wasn't able to upload the Amateurs East London server replay to our site before Clive replaced it- has anyone got the ability to host it so that he can get a copy?

Yes, I can. If you have an FTP client I'll set up an FTP account for you.

Anyone downloading it can then grab it from their browser.

Sent you a PM about hosting Dave, and I watched the full Novice replay without issue.

I should have won as everybody else did 10 SHIFT-Rs each.
