I've never raced at solitude before. So I will be a reserve and drive if needed. I'd prefer one of the slower cars, but I'll drive whatever is needed. Smiley

Might be tempted with the Honda here, or whatever suits the team. I recently lost all of my setups  so whatever I am asked to drive will be an adventure. But I do like the circuit, just not sure if the circuit likes me??

C'mon Napo get that BRM out of the garage and burn some rubber!!!

I'll drive if you want me to, otherwise I'll be a reserve

Hello and greetings from EOLC

I opened an EOLC Server for training in solitude.

In Vroc it's the EOLC3

Server: EOLC3
PW: soli
IP: 217.172.189 : 32808

feel free to join!

Patrick

Edit: it's running 24hrs a day
Edit2:
If you want to join via IP in the race on sunday. We will presumably be racing on EOLC1.

Hello Patrick and thanks, much appreciated and we'll enjoy having some informal practice sessions.  We're looking forward to the race, Solitude is among the favourite circuits of many of our drivers.

If there's no further volunteers by the end of today I'll be able to post our team.

I've posted the team.  Napo gets the BRM, Fulvio makes his debut in the Cooper, Phil with the other Cooper, Clive returns to the Honda.  John and Hristo have our Brabhams, Tim the Eagle and Ken the Lotus.  Jethro has demurred on this occasion, I'm sure that he'll race for us next season, but we haven't a reserve if there are any further volunteers interested.  EOLC will be very tough, so good luck!

Thanks to everyone who's raced for UKGPL, fortune hasn't always been on our side but over the season we've had some success.  This will be the last time that I post a team- we want to organise the team from the start of next season, so that we don't have to recruit for each race.

I tested my connection last night. Bandwith type isn't declared on Vroc but I had succesfull with Fast Bandwith settings, may you confirm this setting?
Ciao

Just got myself connected and ran a practice session (couldn't be bothered doing an entire race on my own!)
Couldn't connect at first, then copied your settings above into my core.ini, still couldn't get in!
Restored my original .ini then had a nose about the settings in Vroc and selected the fast bandwidth settings as Fulvio did - worked fine so I presume I'm good to go on Sunday?  Smiley

net_mdm_client_send_size = 84 ; Client packet size on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_every = 3 ; Server packet freq on dialup

So Fast Bandwith setting.

Thx

Just had an offline race as practice - god are the AI slow here! If I hadn't sliced off 2 wheels misjudging the jump on the back straight I could have lapped the field  Grin

I'm just off to search for any graphical/AI updates, anyone know what the best ones are incase I miss them?  Smiley

If you are using GEM to manage your connections Tim, there is a way to increase the AI speed.
If you select "Race" on the left hand side, a selection menu appears below, one of the settings is "AI speed"

I have never used it but presumably it will make them quicker? Might go and try it myself now  Roll Eyes

Also somewhere I have seen a parameter that allows you to match the AI speed to your own, but can't remember where that is  Undecided

UPDATE!!

Just found it in Gem

Click on "Configure" button at top centre of Gem start screen

then tick
"Link AI speed to player"

Should do the trick, now they will keep up with you however fast you go..lol that could get VERY VERY irritating!! if you can never beat them. Grin

If you set your core.ini to this:

net_mdm_client_send_every = 3
net_mdm_client_send_size = 84
net_mdm_server_send_every = 3
net_mdm_server_send_size = 384
net_server_port = 0                       ; Server port number (0 = default)
net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip = 1      ; Use modem bandwidthfor TCP/IP

and then select use core.ini settings in VROC

you will always be able to connect to any server.

as long as the net_mdm_server_send_size value is set higher on the client side than on the server side then the server setting will overide and you will connect.

I have had these settings for years and have always connected to every server I've tried.

If you ever host however you may want to revise them unless you have a very good connection.

I prefer to practice on my own. Those AI things get in your way like no human could!! I've never seen the point in them personally! Smiley
