Is screen freeze a server issue or a client issue?

I thought it was caused by clients runnning Prib with incompatible graphics drivers.

It's a track issue.

There is an issue with GPL when running the more recent drivers, but it has nothing to do with Pribluda. You get freezes near the pits but the cure is to use the new rasterisers by Nigel Pattinson. As I say it has nothing to do with Pribluda afaik.

Do the new rasterizers sort out screen freezes even in those tracks that we know were causing freezes before? That would be great!

I've run several races here with Bob Bernhard's NAGPL league with no probs for all concerned.  Quite like the circuit.  Too bad it never came to be.

Blast  Huh

Qualified really well, dont know where the time came from.

Too much wheelspin off the start line and the Honda on row 3 got a blinder to P1.

Hassled by a honda for the first lap, someone fell off in front of me and I was running in P2. Then held him off for a lap maybe until the 2 faster cars passed me. One on the main straight and 1 cos I selected neutral by mistake.  Roll Eyes

I wasn't trying for hot laps, just to make it round, but I lost it on lap 5 and that was that. In my defence, I was having frame rate issues (runs fine offline - gotta get the rasterisers sorted as when I run through GEM on the 65's, there is no prob) and this contributed to my early demise.

Anyways, now I know how a real GP driver feels after a silly mistake puts him out of the race (looking at you Nelson). Never mind, at least my pace was Ok and I had some fun dicing with (faster) Hondas. Those Hondas looked real hard to drive mind, very tail happy... Smiley

Sorry to my team, we should have had a P5 or 6 at the pace that I could manage.

I did say that frame rate issues contributed to my early demise, but then again, the guy in 5th was exerting maximum pressure and this was also a factor (so well done to that person for forcing the error).

May have been watching my mirrors too much.

before someone else says it....  'to finish (somewhere), first you have to finish. Smiley

Huge apology to Michael Turner at the start. My wheel suddenly froze and I had no control over any inputs for about a second. A very hopeless feeling. I was glad to see him carry on. Also sorry to Dave to slowing his start as well.

The Brab starting spewing oil on lap 12.............

Cheers,

Will

I was watching the Indy 500 and delayed entering to the server as much as I could, but alas I had to miss the last stint. Indycar.com had great live broadcast with onboard cameras and radio communication, so it was like doing the race yourself. Some great insights on what teams and drivers talk about during such long races and you also realize how difficult it is to keep up your concentration. The vibrations and speeds were amazing too.

Well, anyway, I joined and copied over a Brands 67 setup since the tracks have similar characteristics. It worked quite well and with a few changes to the gearbox I was immediately on the pace. Had a great flying lap in the very end which cemented my Waza on pole.  Smiley

The start wasn't so good, I dropped too much revs by trying to not overrev the engine and as Tim rocketed through to take the lead, I followed him fending off James' flying BRM in T1.

Tim quickly built a gap on cold tyres and full tanks, which surprised me but I was not worried as the race was long and difficult. Soon I began to catch up with my teammate and it was shaping up to be a good battle for the victory, but he went off in T4 (?) and that elevated me to 1st.

It was important to avoid overreving the engine over all the crests and bumps, and also keep a good pace until the pitstop. I was expecting James to challenge me because he didn't have to do a pitstop, but after he dropped there were no more threats, so now I just had to bring the car to the finish.

The tyres melted pretty quickly and I had a few moments plus one off at T1 as the car was suddenly sliding around in some places. The stop and go I had to do went just fine, at the limit of pit window and the gaps after it were such that all my focus was on saving the car.

There were no problems with backmarkers, except Phil getting a bit loose in T1 but we sorted it out.

To be honest I was hoping Doni would manage to keep Tim in 3rd to allow me to close up the gap in the championship standings a bit more, but he was running out of fuel in the end and lost 2 positions. Which was great news for Hiki Waza of course, a 1-2-3 with Evil taking 3rd! SHE WILL BE PLEASED! (shush, bernie, you're not HER type)

Cheers,

No harm done, Will. Fortunately the Eagle is is well built and also survived my bouncing off Phil later in the race.
An enjoyable race on a challenging course the saw me tussling with Phil and Bernie over a few laps till I pulled off for the mandatory pit stop. I also had Jack in my sights for quite a while but never succeeded in getting close enough to pass.

Had a great race, I seem to be pretty rubbish at practicing here (I consider the qualy time for clubmans to be a fluke) but always seem to hold it together quite well in the races.
Knew from last week that I could have been challenging for 2nd spot in qually (prib has claimed in the past I'm capable of a 1.39, so maybe better if I got lucky!) but couldn't keep it together..
Come the race I got an awesome start while both H and James appeared to bog down slightly, lept into 1st and set about going as fast as poss. Had no doubt Hristo would eventually catch me but wanted to ensure the rest of the field had been dropped before that happened - all was looking good till I made a silly mistake on L2  Roll Eyes

Re-joined in 5th I think and set about chasing Evil (in 4th) down while he in turn hassled James. When I was about a lap from being close enough to have to start considering a move Evil claimed the 3rd spot - James was now on the chase and was prooving pretty hard to get around.
Thankfully he managed to find neutral (an italian gearbox in a BRM?) and I slipped inside him approaching the hill.
Caught Evil after a bit, went around the outside of him on the run towards the hill having got a good jump on him - he presumably didn't see me as he bonked me off the track.
Thankfully (for me) James had retired by this point so apart from loosing about 4-5 seconds I remained 4th and could set about chasing Evil back down.

Got past Evil 2nd time lucky and started chasing Doni - was making a fair bit of progress until I span and gifted him back 4 or 5 seconds. Rejoined and got back to chasing....
It was clear I was now too far back to catch him if he stayed on track but I continued pushing anyway for 'just in case'.
With 3 laps to go Doni started spluttering and slowed down - I caught him and was suprised by the fact he was crawling around and simply moved over to let me by. As a result I pushed hard for the next lap to insure there was space if he re-awakened and gave chase, this never happened of course so I settled back into my more normal rhythm.
Then at the start of the final lap the engine started spluttering just as I was completing a lapping maneuver on (Micheal?)! I instantly selected 5th and backed off - letting (Micheal?) back through about 2 corners later when he caught me back up. Finished the lap in high gears without exceeding about 7,000rpm at any point until the finish straight!  sweatdrop

Congrats to my fellow Waza's for 1st and 3rd! SHE will be pleased!! Grin
Commiserations Doni for a good fight, and well done to all the finishers!  angel

To be honest I was hoping Doni would manage to keep Tim in 3rd to allow me to close up the gap in the championship standings a bit more
You can choose your friends, but not your family and team mates eh Hristo?  ninja
